My roommate: If it can't take a slight body slam, then what's the point?
ProteanPrankster: I got carpet burn from doing it on my knees without pants on.
(later in the conversation)
VerdantAnubis: That's why I do it on my knees.
My Roommate: But if you had just given me your shoes, I wouldn't have murdered you in pragmatic blood.
My Roommate: Is there any benefit to bonding with your significant other?
Me, a pragmatic person: Eventually you get stuff.
My Roommate: How do you draw the anime tiddies?!
Protean Prankster: ................... You try your _breast_.
My Roommate: //throws Android plushie
(later)
My Roommate: How do you draw sexy ladies?!?!??!?!
Protean Prankster: . You look in the mirror then you draw what you see.
My Roommate: .....//"cute" noise, which Protean Prankster hears as rather sexual
Protean Prankster: //spits Multigrain CheeriOs all over keyboard
Me, talking about my high school graduation which was invaded by 17-year-cycle-cicadas: Normally, they're just a bunch of larvae wriggling around in the ground, but then every seventeen years, they all come out at once, and then they scream, and then they die. Then there are more larvae that just kind of wriggle around for another seventeen years.
Not GrumpyCat: Correction: They scream, have sex, then die.
Protean Prankster: And it just had to be your year, out of those seventeen years. You're just so unlucky.
Oatmeal Sam, who hadn't previously been in the room, after hearing just the part about screaming and dying after seventeen years: Are you guys talking about cicadas?
Oatmeal Sam: I wonder how much more efficient your [talking to Protean Prankster] brain would be if we used hypnotism to suppress the part of your brain that's always working on pick up lines. You'd probably surpass like levels of computer science; so much of your brain is always looking for opportunities.
Not Grumpycat: I have heard the term "dead babies" so much this past week!
Hi Jump Kick, who hasn't been in the room, suddenly poking her head out: What? Dead babies?
