It’s March, so you know what that means: it’s time to reveal our seven prompts for KyoKao Week! This event will include art, fics, vids, edits, meta, playlists, and anything else you can think of! Be sure to hit us up on here and on twitter if you have any questions.
Remember, the prompts are meant to inspire rather than constrict; don’t feel beholden to them if you’d like to do something else!
June 9th: Decadence / Indulgence – Do our boys indulge in their feelings privately, or do they make themselves known? Does Kyoya take to spoiling Kaoru in the extreme? Or is it the unexpected lack of ostentatious behavior that catches the boys’ attentions? Interpret this as you see fit, and make the prompt your own!
June 10th: Horror / Mystery – Have you ever wanted to create a crossover into another universe, and bring Kyoya and Kaoru with you? Is there another anime or manga you’d like to see them within? Maybe the Host Club takes on a particularly ambitious theme for their clients, and the results are more than anyone could have bargained for… Tells us your ideas!
June 11th: Meetings / Partings – Day Three focuses on all of the ways in which Kyoya and Kaoru come and go in each other’s lives. Do you imagine this occurring during their Ouran years, or well after? Do they seek each other out at reunions? Is there pain and frustration that makes it all the more difficult for either of them to go?
June 12th: Generator/Free Day – Day Four is a bit of a wild card! Follow the link to our prompt generator and create your KyoKao work off of the prompt your given or create one of your own!
June 13th: Sacrifice / Give-Take – Have any of Kaoru or Kyoya’s personal sacrifices stood out enough to move you? Does their friendship or intimate relationship have a special give-take component that you just can’t get enough of? Please share it with us!
June 14th: Joy / Memories – Where do the happier moments from their years together come into play? As adults, do they ever reminisce over laugh-worthy club days? Or even in high school, are there memories from the early days of their friendship that Kyoya or Kaoru keep in their hearts? Explore to your hearts content!
June 15th: Tradition/Celebration – Our final day centers around another hallmark of the Ouran lifestyle, in that there is always a tradition or nearby celebration to adhere to. Do you imagine there being any particular traditions Kaoru or Kyoya feel strongly about? Are there celebrations they either loathe or look forward to? Let your feelings run wild!
Ran: maidens if you are going to flee dramatically from my castle in the middle of the night once i reveal my true nature to you please leave your candelabra on the little ledge by the portcullis we are running out of them
Ran: starting to think these maidens are stumbling in soaked through from the rain just to steal my beautiful gowns and homewear are any of you actually lost
Aren: we are at the checkout in Home Goods loading the belt with nothing but candelabras in all shapes & sizes while the cashier watches sympathetically and asks if it’s the maidens again
Chung: do you think the paint will wear away from the funko pops and future historians will find them all white like we did with the Elrianode statues?
