(I want Mikan to have wheelies to escape her feelies.) Kaede, Sayaka and Kyoko please. I feel like dirt, I'm ill and my family refuse to acknowledge it.
I have Narcolepsy, so I tend to go sleeping everywhere, and I have a name my parents gave me, that I hate (im not trans, I just despise it and it makes me super Uncomfortable) so I asked them to call me by the name me and my friend chose out, but they won't, and have started to write my other name, that I hate, on me when I sleep. Just call me Gordon Bennett, it's the name I chose. I know I'm a girl but I hate my old name, and I'm sick and Uncomfortable with what they call me and how treat my Narcolepsy as a joke, can I have a Hug and Some words of Reassurance that its Valid to want to change your name of your old one feel really uncomfortable and vile? I hate it, and I know my struggle is hardly anything compared to some others, But it's become so bad that I often Stay over at my friend's house just to escape what they say about me. And it's Uncharacteristic of me to feel so sick, but Hearing them call me my old name makes me feel nauseous.
Gordon, that’s a great name. I’m not sure why your parents need to be so stubborn about it, you don’t need to be trans to go by a name that makes you feel comfortable, no need to worry about me judging you for that. I know someone who goes by their middle name instead of their first name. Sure he’s trans but I’m sure he can understand feeling uncomfortable with a name better than I ever could.
Trust me Anon, you don’t need to explain to me why you feel uncomfortable. It’s valid no matter what your parents think, being uncomfortable with a name you were given is more common than you think. Referring back to this person that I know, his first name makes him uncomfortable to a certain degree so he prefers going by his middle name, which is okay! There’s nothing wrong with that at all.
I’m upset that your parents can’t respect your wish and do the same by calling you your desired name. I’m glad you have a friend that you can go to when you need to be away from them, they’re very overwhelming from what you’ve told me. If it makes you feel sick, then I don’t blame you for leaving. But don’t you worry Gordon, your reasoning is valid and I respect that. Even if your parents won’t. And now, I’ll give you the hug you want. Say Gordon, maybe you’d want to listen to some Debussy with me, I’m sure it can help relax your nerves too.
Gordon, I have to say that everything Akamatsu said is correct. I can’t agree with what your parents are thinking, there is no need for a person to identify as a certain gender or even sexuality to have a name they would prefer going by. It’s rather insensitive to not address you as Gordon.
Your narcolepsy isn’t a joke, the more I hear about your parents, the more they make me want to address them directly face to face. But in order to avoid conflict because my priority is making sure you’re okay, I won’t do that. But yes, you can have a hug from me too.
No matter what name you go by, no matter how obscure it may feel, it’s valid. The name you’d like to go by is your choice and if your parents can’t accept that, then they are no better than that dastardly Enoshima. I can’t imagine how insensitive someone has to be to not only disregard the name you want to go by, but joking about your narcolepsy…it boggles my mind. I can’t imagine that in the slightest, only because it won’t ever cease to amaze me just how awful some parents can be. I mean…my father…no, now’s not the time to be talking about that. Now, for that hug, come here Gordon. I’m sorry if the hug is a little awkward, I don’t know how to really…hug someone well yet.
Gordon, your name is absolutely lovely! Names aren't gendered, and as long as it makes you happy than you should absolutely be able to choose whatever name you wish. And of course you can have a hug!
It is so cruel that your parents are doing that to you, and narcolepsy is absolutely not a joke! You shouldn't minimize your problems, because it's absolutely terrible that your parents, who are supposed to care for you, are doing this.
I'm glad that you have friends that can help you out as no one should have to deal with this, especially not alone. I really hope your parents stop and listen to you, Gordon.
