The Emporium Mod is NOW hosted on Modrinth! I will also be posting my Minecraft mods to Modrinth from here on out as well as PlanetMinecraft!
A furniture and decor mod with a focus and emphasis on themed furniture and block sets!
I WILL BE REMOVING THE EMPORIUM MOD OFF OF CURSEFORGE!
PLEASE DO NOT REUPLOAD MY MODS TO CURSEFORGE!
Moding Minecraft How To’s
I could NOT find this information ANYWHERE, so here you go. (I use Forge, I know nothing of Fabric, sorry!)
Adding Mods to Minecraft:
The Curseforge App, while a little overwhelming, is a great place to start with modpacks. Modpacks are groups of a variety of mods. The Curseforge App will keep everything organized, so you wont have to worry about folders, compatibility issues, or Minecraft Versions. HOWEVER! Some of these packs contain upwards of 200 mods, so please check to make sure your computer can run that.
Step 1: Launcher IMPORTANT: make sure your launcher is the same version as the mods you want. (1.16.5, 18.1, 19.2 etc) These are usually about a year behind. However, 1.19.2 has popped up on many popular mods already.
The Curseforge App and Forge are DIFFERENT THINGS.
The Curseforge App is really useful if you want to play multiple launchers, since it will keep all those files separate. Its also great for loading Modpacks
The two most common launchers are Fabric and Forge (I use Forge) Links go to their main pages.
For Forge: you download a Java file. After thats done, run it, and it will automatically install Forge into your Minecraft Launcher. (IDK about Fabric, but I feel like it works the same.
Step 2: Allocate Ram (to Forge.)
Launcher, Installations, Forge, More Options, Edit, More Options. At the very bottom is a little box with a buncha letters and numbers. Between -Xmx and G -XX, there’s a number-change that to at least 8, if your PC can do 8. There are tutorials on this, and how to check to see how much RAM your computer is using.
This is so when you download 100+ mods and resource packs, the game keeps working.
Highly recommend checking how much RAM your computer needs to function, esp if you are using Google Chrome to watch stuff while you play.
Step 3: Mods
Curseforge (website, not app) is the best, and most trustworthy place to find mods for Minecraft (they also have other games.)
Note: when searching for Mods, Curseforge always defaults to ‘modpacks.’ If you want individual mods, you gotta make sure you click on that tab.
Other websites might give you viruses, so please ALWAYS triple check to make sure the site is trustworthy
Youtube Showcases are fantastic places to find mods.
MAKE SURE THE MODS ARE COMPATABLE WITH YOUR VERSION OF MC AND YOUR MC LAUNDER (FORGE/FABRIC)
Download those bad boys. Do not open the file!
Note: Some mods require other mods to work, like libraries. The MC launder will tell you what won’t load and why after you run the game.
Step 4: Put the Files in the Mod Folder
Easiest way to find this is by search ‘.minecraft’ in your file explorer, on ‘My PC’
The Hard way? User Data, Your PC account name, App Data, Roaming, .minecraft. Make sure you have hidden folders on.
When you find .minecraft, pin it, favorite, whatever it is you do to save it. I promise you will be back here.
Find the mods folder. If there is no mod folder, make a folder called ‘mods.’
Open a new file explorer, find your mod downloads. Throw them in the mods folder.
If you want to use Optifine (Please do, it will make your life so much better,) just throw it in this folder and it will work.
Step 5: Launch the Forge Player
Again, the game will let you know if a mod is not compatible with your version of Forge/Fabric (1.16.5, 1.19.2 etc,) or if you need another mod to run a mod, and what that mod is.
Once you get that done, you should be good to go.
If you experience lots of lag, use Optifine, allocate more ram to your Forge version, or lower the amount of chunks being loaded. There are some performance enhancing mods for Minecraft, but I recommend doing lots of research first.
These five screenshots mostly use two Minecraft mods.
One is Paradise Lost, which is basically the Aether for the most recent major updates to Minecraft. It’s acknowledged by the group who’s STILL developing The Aether II, but it’s not made by them.
The more obvious one is Immersive Portals, which lets you go between dimensions without a loading screen and lets you see what’s on the other side of the portal. For performance reasons, Mojang is not going to add that into the vanilla game because that would slow weaker computers to a crawl.
I'm attempting to download mods but I have no idea what I'm doing and it's kinda stressful!! Does anyone have a "Modding Minecraft For Dummies" or something??
I KNOW THIS IS DARK! One of these mobs TURNS TO STONE during the day!
Anyway, these mobs are both labeled as “Troll”. But the one on the left is from Lycanite’s Mobs and can survive in daylight, though it becomes slower and more durable under the Sun’s light. The one on the right is from Dungeon Mobs Reborn, and it turns to stone in daylight and can only spawn in areas darker than even normal hostile mobs can spawn in. Such as underground.
The image you see is a screenshot of a very old version of NBODE running a world with a particular seed.
This place actually looks significantly different in regular Beta 1.8. The general land shape is still the same, but there's supposed to be sand in there. Also Beta 1.8 in this location has less tall grass.
I guess removing annoying surface water pools in the beginning really made that much of a change.
