From the lost and forgotten comes a keepsake with new purpose. I’ve been wanting to play with the mother of pearl key lock inlays since I found them at the antiques fair some time back. There’s nothing better than rooting around in dusty old boxes of junk and coming up with something you’ve never seen before. I bargained for four of the least broken ones and am excited to use one as a toggle on this lariat Y necklace. Other treasures in this piece include two strange enamel metal beads with a vibrant pink flower front and green leaf back, 9 hand-carved vintage bone beads, a faceted pink opal slab stone, tiny vintage key and clam shell charm from a ModeART Arthur Pepper necklace (circa 1940-1970). With the exception of the two Czech glass beads, gold plated wire and Figaro chain, everything in this necklace has been salvaged and repurposed into a new assemblage including the tiny abalone shell cabochon I made from discarded inlay. . . . #lariat #lariatnecklace #arthurpepper #modeart #modeartjewelry #assemblagenecklace #motherofpearl #motherofpearlinlay #keyhole #vintagekey #pinkopal #enamelbeads #salvaged #repurposednecklace #primitivenecklace (at Harrowby, Lincolnshire) https://www.instagram.com/p/CRWgaFmB0W_/?utm_medium=tumblr
