Toronto Model Raelene Fulford tells us of her Good, Bad and Beautiful Modelling Experiences!

ModelMob: Tell us one good thing you love about your experience in the modelling industry.
Raelene: My favourite part about modelling is that the work is different every time. I personally could never work a 9-5 job at the same location day after day, and modelling allows me to see something new and exciting with every job, especially when it calls for travel!
ModelMob: What is one thing you find or found challenging, or dislike about the modelling industry?
Raelene: One challenge of being a model is separating work from outside life. When you are an accountant at a party for example, people do not come up to you and say "Hey, are you an accountant?" or "You look like an accountant." People constantly do that with 5'10+ girls and modelling, especially when wearing heels, and that usually leads into a bunch more questions about my work. It's a great icebreaker but sometimes it turns regular events/social get-togethers into what can feel like interviews.
ModelMob: What is your favourite/most beautiful experience you had as a model?
Raelene: One of my most beautiful moments as a model was shooting a campaign for DALLA—a men's suit designer! It was me and two male models, and I was so used to wearing dresses and heels for shoots that it was a refreshing change to wear a suit with a "power-ponytail" and be treated as equal. The makeup was still full glam which I loved, and I do not know the next time I will model menswear but it was a really cool step towards gender equality! I think women should rock suits more often!
