I am very tired of how separatist discourse makes people create this whole evil entity out of thousands of individual, separate statements, it takes groups and mobs and homogenizes them, dehumanizes them and encourages more of it by giving shelter and validating anyone feeling attacked by the "opposite group of opinions".
So tired of hearing "they say and do this and that" when no they don't. One person says this, another person does that. One thing is not as offensive as the next. One belief is maybe not held as strongly as the next. They're not a huge mob of people that behave in the same way, but separate statements coming from separate contexts all responding to the same sentiment: hate, sorrow, fear, disgust, frustration.
This is so important, this distinction. Before you think all is lost and before getting ready to spew more of that sentiment in all directions, know that you're immediately generalizing. Know that generalizing kills the truth and acknowledge you're being careless with your words. You are allowed to do so, in fact you are still human and prone to trying to make sense of chaos, but do acknowledge this for your own mental health.
If you choose to identify and participate with any sort of group may it be based on encouraging the types of attitudes that spread compassion and not on dumping your frustrations on the attitudes you hate.
The male loneliness epidemic discourse is weird bc
A) it is real, and driving meaningful recruitment for right-wing orgs
B) not only happening to men, it’s the nature of a society where existing in public or being part of communities often relies on having money and time to spend
Looking at your phone and thinking, ‘what the fuck did I want to do with you?’ is the modern equivalent of walking into a room and thinking, ‘why the fuck did I come in here?’
Perception and Legends
Out of Kalista’s four skins, one depicts her actual look, two depict how a culture imagines her to look, and the final is just her SKT skin, though without the logos may have a place anyway.
In Ionia, Kalista is spoken of as a demon, one that appears when the moon turns crimson. According to the legends, the specter first appeared not long after the original Ionian Vastayan pact was made. As it turned out, not all tribes agreed to the peace, and the resultant feelings of betrayal from all parties involved were enough to summon her when nature’s magic was darkest. The red tint to the night fooled everyone who saw her to assume she was clad in reds, and from there the legend twisted and turned, partially inspiring the Blood Moon plays that are on display at festivals across the island.
The cleaner armor, greater covering plates, and truer blue hues of Championship Kalista are the hallmarks of her Targonian description. Unsure of what she truly is, Aspect or Spirit, the people have enough respect for her strength to avoid provocation. That isn’t to say that some people don’t still invoke her, simply that the event is rarer than in some other parts of the world.
Chaotic and modern, Zaun’s myths of the Lady of Vengeance are reflected in the upper city of Piltover as well. The appearance spoken of is any woman who could be found in either city, wearing clothes common to the younger generation. Though her weapon of choice and the golden prongs from her back are anything but modern, tampering too much with a legend is a good way to muddle the story it tells, and those who forget the Lady are soon reminded, however briefly, of her existence.
AS spoken of in Invocation, the bondmate may see Kalista for who she was. The straight-backed, honorable warrior, polished and proper, ready to lead the charge into the maw of any enemy. Sadly, there is no one alive to regale the world with whispers of this woman, and even the general herself can’t remember it.
