Many confuse having a moral compass with being judgemental.
If you're not allowed to call anyone out for their harmful behavior, that's not a safe space. It's a group that enables each others' cruelty in order to belong. These groups are usually led with fear and rampant insecurity.
Newcomers are a threat. Whoever doesn't agree is cast out. Loyalty is an accessory. You're either with us or against us. Those asking for accountability are immediately pushed away.
You're supposed to speak up when you're hurt.
You're supposed to speak up when others are hurt.
And then, things are supposed to change.
You may not like an individual.
You may not connect.
And that's perfectly okay.
But accepting their love and support, repeatedly taking from them and then making endless excuses when it's your turn to show up, is pure opportunism.
This isolating, us-or-them way of thinking is infectious. You will engage in it to fit in.
But if you believe in real kindness, honesty and authenticity, you must find your way out.
Aunque los entiendas no cambia nada.
Eso no te lo dijeron.
Eso lo escribiste tu.
La incertidumbre es peor porque no muere

Perdón, la culpa es peor porque no muere

Qué me vas a dar?
Nada que no tenga.
Quédatelo.
Al cabo que me sobra.
No quiero. No quiero si no quieres.
No quiero.

No tomes, que no hay más.
When you don't get why older people say "things were better before," and you keep spitting at them how things are sooo much better now...
Some things are a lot better, yes, but one day you'll understand what they're actually talking about.
Think smaller. Your lens is too wide.
Time doesn't stop but you're still the same. Things keep moving and you're barely keeping up now. Less bandwidth. Things feel worse because there's no time to assimilate and process them anymore. You've finally arrived at who you are and then things changed again. You thought you finally had things figured out and then they changed.
You understood everything before. Now you've skipped a few seasons of this "life" show (you were busy advancing your career, securing income for your family, taking care of children, dealing with chronic illness, or even all of the above) and now you're lost. You don't know why opinions changed or how. You were obviously on the right side of things, you were young and boisterous once. Now, you can try to understand and keep up again, but you just don't have the bandwidth, your body aches, you're tired, you're worried. And also, why should you? You've fought enough. You've gotten angry enough times. You've cried enough. Your mental health has gotten the best of you too many times. Let others figure out what's cool and what's right. Now you want peace. The peace you fought for. For now you just want that thing that you know, that thing that gives you comfort. That which feels familiar, even if it was wrong. It wasn't wrong back then. You weren't wrong back then. You were just a product of your time.
It just disturbs their peace, and after enough years you get sick of not having peace. I'm sure there's a bunch of cooler older people who keep up. But it takes a lot of effort, free time and resources, and some just don't have that privilege.
I think allowing kindness to older people will do wonders for you personally when you get older.

You don't "sell your youth" you spend it a way or another. Also, youth is regarded as the most important thing ever, but what about wisdom? Yes, motherhood isn't for everyone. At all.
I have a feeling that the new generation will see how tired and beat up millennials are because of having multiple children in their 30s and 40s back to back and think, innocently, "y'know what? If I want kids I'm gonna try to have them earlier while I'm young and energetic..."
But at the same time this thought needs to be supported by raising men to mature at an appropriate age as well!! No more "boys will be boys" and infantilizing them in their freaking 20s. Women (who want kids) wait to get pregnant because finding the right partner takes so freaking long in the current state of opposite sex relationships. And from there, deciding to have a child with them is another journey not to be taken lightly, divorce is truly heartbreaking for kids.
I'm not even sure I have a point, it just means, if you have kids older, there's a valid reason. If you have kids younger you'll have more bandwidth and vitality but you're definitely not wise.
What do you want to give your children? A playdate partner who will match their wonder and work things out alongside them? Or a wise parent who knows, honors themselves and will guide them along the way?
You choose. But both are perfectly fine. All you gotta do to be a good parent is to actually want to have them.
If you don't then move on. This post is from 2019 and people already know and believe that you can wait to have them (or not have them) and it's fine.
I'm too honest and I'm too naive
And some people are attracted to that
Who knows for what reason
Maybe I get to fill little voids
Inside their hearts.
Maybe they pity me
Maybe they wish the world worked
As I judge it
Maybe they share in
My pointless idealism
Of the human condition
It keeps things fun

We can't all be activists. We can't all be fighters. We can't all be healers. We can't all be eloquent. We can't all have the bandwidth. We can't all be unbiased. We can't all be blind to the stories or the feelings.
We can't all be exactly the same and feel exactly the same having grown up in such different environments.
I'm so sad when I read these people. I'm so sad when I read all of this determination for things they barely understand. So sad to see how they get caught up in movements, temporary movements, while these and similar injustices happen, have been happening, and will continue to happen on the daily everywhere around the world.
If you so easily understand there's a spectrum for sexuality, why can't you understand there's a spectrum for humanity too. For what's moral and ethical. For what's close to your heart and what isn't. For what you can handle and what you cannot. There's a reason some people are firefighters, medical professionals, soldiers. And others aren't.
We can't all be the same. And you can be what you need to be right now. And not what they want you to or need you to be. Only you know what that is.
Sometimes stating the obvious can make you happy and grateful
Many times we want to make sure what we're saying is more than the obvious but, obvious good things are what we should be grateful for. Those concepts build the tapestry of our lives and are often overlooked just because they were acknowledged a few times. We get bored of the good too easily. Good is everywhere. Great happens.

How do you move on? You move on when your heart finally understands that there is no turning back.

Everybody talks about cutting ppl off but nobody really talks about the grief that comes with having to stand firm on that decision knowing it’s not what you wanted but what was necessary for your well-being.
Someone did mention this 🥲
This post is generally written from the perspective of "the one that watched their friend leave" but it's just as hard to be the one to walk
I am very tired of how separatist discourse makes people create this whole evil entity out of thousands of individual, separate statements, it takes groups and mobs and homogenizes them, dehumanizes them and encourages more of it by giving shelter and validating anyone feeling attacked by the "opposite group of opinions".
So tired of hearing "they say and do this and that" when no they don't. One person says this, another person does that. One thing is not as offensive as the next. One belief is maybe not held as strongly as the next. They're not a huge mob of people that behave in the same way, but separate statements coming from separate contexts all responding to the same sentiment: hate, sorrow, fear, disgust, frustration.
This is so important, this distinction. Before you think all is lost and before getting ready to spew more of that sentiment in all directions, know that you're immediately generalizing. Know that generalizing kills the truth and acknowledge you're being careless with your words. You are allowed to do so, in fact you are still human and prone to trying to make sense of chaos, but do acknowledge this for your own mental health.
If you choose to identify and participate with any sort of group may it be based on encouraging the types of attitudes that spread compassion and not on dumping your frustrations on the attitudes you hate.
