They're all here! Even Maki and Yuta.
Yuji never forgets his big brother Choso and Yuki 🥺😭😭
Love of Two Different Worlds - Chapter 1
Here is the story I promised you all, a short Yuka and Cross fanfic I’m finally starting now. After everything they’ve been through, this one is softer, quieter, and filled with the kind of feelings they never had the chance to face before. I hope you enjoy this small, heartfelt journey with them 🤍
The sun dipped lower, painting the field gold. Yuka caught the ball one last time awkward, but proud.
"Teach us more about Earth," Maru said again, still breathless and his hands on his knees. "And… all of you." He glanced between Tsurugi and Yuka.
"Like….what do you do when there's no war? No curses? " Yuka tilted her head and smiled softly and passed again the ball to Cross.
"Same goes for you." She stepped closer to Cross sneakers crunching dry leaves.
"What do Simurians do when they're not fighting?" Cross didn't answer right away. He just looked at her, really looked like the question had snuck past his guard. Then, quiet: "We… drift."
Maru laughed, loud and bright. "He's lying. We stare at stars until we fall asleep. Or argue about who gets the bigger blanket. Something silly like this hahaha."
Cross shot him a glare that didn't land and said. "Shut up." Yuka smiled small and real. "Sounds nice." She reached out, not quite touching his sleeve.
"Wanna try it? Staring at stars, I mean. No blankets. Just… us." Cross blinked once and then twice. Like he was translating the words from human to whatever language his heart spoke. He needed a moment to realize what she meant by that...but then he said.
"Fine lets do it…." He didn't move, but he didn't leave from her side. Maru whooped, already jogging toward the edge of the field. "I'll get snacks! Ramen….real ramen! And maybe Tsurugi if he stops being a grouch."
Tsurugi muttered something from the sidelines, probably "I'm not coming" but he followed anyway.
Left alone, Yuka nudged Cross with her elbow."You know… you don't have to catch every ball. Or every question." He exhaled slow and almost relieved.
"I know." She held out her hand not for the glove and not for the ball. Just open, her palm up, like she was offering him the last quiet thing left in the world. He stared at it like it was a star he wasn't sure he could reach. Like if he touched it, everything he'd ever lost might finally stay gone.
Then slow, trembling just enough to betray him, he slid his fingers into hers. The sky bled pink above them, soft and stupidly beautiful.
Far off, Maru hollered about "extra spicy!" his voice was cracking with joy. Cross didn't roll his eyes and he didn't pull away Yukas hand. He just held on.
Like he'd been waiting his whole life to feel something this small and this real.
Thank you so much for reading and hanging out with this little story. The next chapter is coming really soon, I’m putting the finishing touches on it right now! This here is like a small epilogue, next chapters will be longer for sure.

lil warmup sketch,, thinking of him (his hair was a nightmare to draw for some reason)
Read Modulo
JJK Modulo 22 Spoilers!!
i didn't talk about the last chapter, not because i found it uninteresting but because i was very busy. to be quick about it, the ending to tsurugi and maru's battle being a reminder that they are both children fighting each other over matters they shouldn't have to solve. was their battle meaningless? i think so but only in the sense that it should have never come to that. so in that it gave itself meaning as another show of tragedy common to jujutsu sorcerers (and the simurians)
that chapter ended with maru and yuuji having met up and entering the place where mahito has situated himself. i'm not really sure how they get there, but it's either because of the kalyan on the simurian's ship or maru himself. anywayy (one last thing, but yuuji made a quick mention of choso, calling him his big brother and that made me cry lol)
it felt so good to see yuuji absolutely destroy mahito with little effort. like i legit laughed here at this part:
the "splat" interrupting the domain expansion is so funny (btw i had originally read this vertically so that also made it more surprising)
of course, the art is stunning per usual like here:
while i will always love gege's art style and will miss that we didn't get more of it in modulo, yuji iwasaki has done amazing work and this is just the most recent example of that.
after fucking up mahito, yuuji and maru talk about what they plan to do about preventing curses from being born. with the 2 options being every japanese person becoming a sorcerer or completely removing their cursed energy (like being heavenly restricted). the very last thing said though, is that regardless curses could still be born.
which im pretty sure was yuuji being like, yes the majority of sorcerers are japanese but there are still people outside of that. which im confused about. i thought that the reason cursed energy was majorly restricted to japan was because of tengen's barriers and that after the culling games mess there would be more sorcerers outside of japan. i guess i misunderstood that somewhere
but also, is yuuji saying this because it would not be possible for maru to use mahito's technique for anyone outside of japan? they haven't explained how they plan to use it to such an extent, even when kenjaku made use of it, his reach extended only to those he had made binding vows with.
also another idea, perhaps they're talking less about curses being born of humans in general (though they were specific in talking about japanese people) but rather aliens. whose to say there won't come more aliens in the future with their own cursed energy and cursed spirits? yuuji said it himself that they would be robbing the world of many opportunities in ridding them of cursed energy, and while he says he'll take care of it if he needs to, it would end up making this initial plan pointless. but we'll have to wait to see next chapter.
last thing, but we got another really clear view of yuuji's face:
not much i want to say, just happy to see yuuji clearly again.
overall, rlly good chapter that brought up some interesting ideas. it felt like the convo yuki had with geto back then, with way less depression and jumps to genocide. wonder what dabura and mahoraga are up to (and also, how long does this take place after the end of maru's and tsurugi's fight?)
