I keep forgetting to mention this, but my library has a stuffed real-size Lorax (I need a picture with him sometime), and a copy of the book in Spanish.

I really like that the Once-ler is called Mr. Fuena-Vez in Spanish; it’s such a pretty name.

Today’s Library Joke

We’ve been getting about 15 calls an hour (about every 4 minutes) asking for solar eclipse glasses.

Thus, my coworker was tempted to call one of the other libraries (having the same problem) and ask the following:

“I’m looking for a book?”

-audible sigh of relief from other librarian- “What’s the title?”

“Oh, it’s called ‘Do You Have Those Glasses?’ by The Solar Eclipse.”

-cue laughter from all of us-

So I just finished reading this book called At the Edge of the Universe and if you’re looking for a book with a really diverse cast of characters it’s definitely got it.*

It also made me cry but that’s just because I’m a sappy dork.

*(The main characters are, in order of introduction, gay, African-American, nonbinary, ace, and bi)
