Past black iron gates that swung upon at their approach was the garden within the walls, dense with life and almost primeval at this time of year. The castle was visible despite the growth, its dark gothic appearance almost at odds with its verdant surroundings. Birds sang and light filtered through the trees, occasionally at odd perspectives like it swam through the branches with no regard to the angle of the sun.
The large entrance to the castle displayed a similar level of politeness as the gates outside, swinging slowly open as they approached. The interior itself was perhaps not quite as dour as the exterior may have suggested, but it was definitely keeping with the aesthetic. Archaic in some parts, modern in others.
Through the tall foyer down the centre of the castle they turned before the grand hall and descended one of the two spiral staircases. With the theatre behind them they passed the long lap pool, a few turns later they came to a stop besides two heavy, vault like doors. At the larger of the two she pressed her hand against a glass panel and waited for it to flash green, then a long sequence of numbers was keyed into the pad presented.
“It probably seems a little over the top, but it’s more a concern of safety than a worry of theft.”
With that the workshop was revealed. Similar to what sat at the back of the Moondial only grander in scale. Weaponry, clockwork, spare parts tools and a forge sleeping in the back.
“You can make use of it should you need to, it’s not often I require privacy in here. Everything should be safe to touch, or at least as safe as you’d expect it to be. Except that;” She pointed to the sabre/katana hybrid, sheathed and resting in a glass case. “That one’s not friendly.”
“Any blood down here would be mine, so you know what that’s about.”
