Mr. Mojo (who calls himself The Pretensions when he’s down in the studio) has a new song out. He describes his music as ‘heavy folk’. I love it because each song always tells a story, and often an eldritch on.
In Truthteller, a man succeeds in capturing a spirit, a truthteller. The man is greedy and material, and demands a single truth, each year. He hopes for things that will make him rich and powerful, but truth, as we all know, is its own sword...

Told You So
While I’ve been using this snowy day to run around taking pictures and baths and reading fics, my 12-year-old son Phoenix has been using his time off school productively by composing yet another dub-step.... So if that’s your thing, you should give it a listen. He’s pretty good!

My 12-year-old son, messing around with orchestral composition (using his keyboard and Cakewalk), and I really LOVE this piece, y’all should listen to it!
So, my son might be failing at math, and barely scraping by in other classes. But he is creative and motivated and has musical vision, and I really respect him for that.
This is Phoenix, and he’s 11, and he’s taught himself to ‘play’ piano. He really likes dubstep, which explains his strange and varied sense of rhythm. (Does anyone know what sort of teacher would help him with this?)
