Aiyah, darlings! My own Mr. Mojo (who is The Pretensions, downstairs in his studio), has a new song to share. This is a good one, the plot twist gave me goosebumps (lyrics are up on the Soundcloud link, if you go listen to it there).

This is my hubby, Mr. Mojo. His latest song is I’ve Seen the Ghost, and it’s lovely and eerie and a little dark (like most of his stuff). My son Phoenix added a little bit of atmosphere, too. Y’all should go give it a listen! And a ‘like’! (Lyrics are in the Notes.)

He describes his music as Heavy Folk, but the best part about his songs is that he’s such a fantastic storyteller... and the stories he tells are always a little creepy, a little bit Lovecraftian horror, all wrapped up in a package of normal before it stabs you with a twist.
The new song, Crow’s Nest, is an homage to Rime of the Ancient Mariner, after a fashion. Mr. Mojo plays every instrument except the tuba (which is in the background), and that’s played by my older son ;) My favorite part is the very, very end. This song gave me goosebumps TWICE!

In Truthteller, a man succeeds in capturing a spirit, a truthteller. The man is greedy and material, and demands a single truth, each year. He hopes for things that will make him rich and powerful, but truth, as we all know, is its own sword...
