Bandai Japan Announces Pui Pui Molcar “Molcartchi” Tamagotchi
As if one Tamagotchi announcement wasn’t enough, Bandai has decided to bless us with two! Just announced is the new PUI PUI Tamagotchi collaboration nick named “Pui Pui Molcartchi”. Pui Pui Molcar is a stop-motion anime series about guinea pigs who are also cars known as “Molcar”, and is available for streaming on Netflix. Interestingly enough it’s actually produced in cooperation with Bandai Namco Entertainment, so a Tamagotchi collaboration just seems natural!
The Pui Pui Molcatchi is based on the Tamagotchi Nano platform as it primarily focuses on the basic nurturing gameplay pattern. Caretakers will first start off with a baby guinea pig car or “Molcar", and based on the car received you’ll be able to raise one of eleven unique Molcars. There are even six rare Molcars they you can obtain under certain conditions. Caretakers can feed their Molcars both carrots and lettuce.
Three mini games are featured on the Molcatchi, which are “Emergency Transport”, “Track!”, and “Car Wash” which all appear to be focused on the car aspect of the Molcar characters.
The Molcartchi will be available in three shells, which are orange, cream, and pink. The pink color is limited to Amazon at this time. The programming is identical regardless of the shell color. With an MRSP of ¥2,530 including tax, the Molcartchi will be released on October 9th, 2021 in Japan.
