We’ve got a mold problem at the apartment, any suggestions?
I have this pony for like one or two years in my back up (I put it in a bag of course) and I don’t know what to do with all these molds seriously
If you forget all the molds is in pretty conditions so, for me, it’s a waste to use it for customs but at the same time, I can’t do anything about the molds
If you had some advices, please tell me !
The villain...
Dana K White explains her container concept sometimes by saying let the container be the villain. So I'm employing this in the case of the sibling who has stuff stored in my home. I can't keep this stuff out in the middle of my room, it's a trip hazard and a health hazard because it's gone moldy.
So my house (the container) and the situation (the mold) are the villains, not me. I am allowed to ask someone who is in a bad situation to collect their things, because if I waited for things to get better I could be waiting forever. And it's also not fair to me to have to keep hold of stuff especially when it's getting in my way and could make me sick. I feel bad about it but I'm not the villain. I want to make my house comfortable and I can't do that if it's overflowing and full of spores.
Oh man, I've been sleeping next to mold for ages...
I decided to tackle under my bed this weekend, and I came across a suitcase filled with stuff that belongs to my sibling, that was covered in mold. My bedroom has an en-suite with a dehumidifier running constantly but my bed is against 2 walls so there is no airflow to under the bed, especially in the top corner, where my head happens to go, and that is where I foolishly decided to store a soft suitcase full of clothes. I don't know how long it's been moldy for but my gosh is looked horrible. There was a bunch of other stuff under the bed too, some shoes that belong to siblings, lost socks, some of my shoes, an old canvas washing basket that was molded too, and a bag of old clothes I'd committed to getting rid of but forgot was there, also molded.
I've wiped down suitcase as best I can but I'm dreaded opening it for fear of more mold. It's clothes sibling hasn't seen in years, I bet don't they even remember them. But there are also a load of clothes that belong to our late grandpa they were close with. I've been advised to give sibling a deadline to collect their things or allow me to throw them. But they're in an odd situation right now, so I doubt they would collect them, but they would probably tell me they wanted to keep them. Unfortunately that won't work out for me because under my bed was the only place I could store that suitcase and it's not going back under there because I don't want to be breathing in mold again! And it's absolutely not going to the storage unit I want empty in the next 11 months like loads of their other stuff. I'm so tempted to just throw them all away but I guess that's not fair (to Sibling, it would be completely fair to me. Do they even remember I have this??) And they have a bunch of other stuff they didn't want going in the storage unit as well, so I'm stuck with that too. At least that stuff isn't moldy.
Anyway, I chucked out all the moldy stuff that belongs to me and hoovered up so much dust from under the bed. Hopefully I will sleep easier as well with less allergy symptoms. Under there has gone from 80% full to about 25% full, just a bag of backpacks and travel bags, and 6 pairs of shoes.
One of my long-term goals was to stop storing other people's things at my home, so this is a step closer to it. No more mixter nice sibling.
