sudden whim: what will Herbert and Dan do if there's a molehill in their backyard?

my headcanon is that Dan will blow it up with dynamite (thus accidentally destroy the backyard) before Herbert can call the pest control, and Herbert will scold him "can't even use tools properly"

Day 8: molehills

Attempts at drawing dirt. Learned: dirt is kinda hard to draw? Going by the prompt list I’ll have another chance the day after tomorrow! Had fun with the grass brushes though. With a bit more time, could definitely make some real nice grass. Ooohhh yeahhh. Next I need to learn some masking and layering techniques I think. The blur brush over a large area was not happy!

even more patreon stuff. some background practice with Kita’s floating island home/work territory and the big mole whales known as Living Hills (individually, Molehills) that serve as Chestnut’s home/work territory.

the floating island are really more like floating lakes. the water just clings to/lifts certain types of soil and that soil clumps together into islands.

the Molehills swim/tunnel through the mud swamps covered in a layer of soil and plant life. all those little feelies on their bodies are because they have no real eyes and can only sense light. thick carpets of algae and grass grow on the murky water that can be walked on and give the illusion of flat land dotted with hills and a few small lakes. the Molehills move slowly but its easy to get squished between them or fall off if you're not careful.
