Hello! If it's alright, could I request some headcanons for some of the boys of your choosing + Molly taking care of a sick S/O? Or, S/O taking care of them while sick. Either is good. :)
Thank you for your time and I hope you are having a good day.

[Hello hello, I am finally back again! I‘ve had a bad headache the last weeks and a half and while it isn‘t gone completely, I am atleast capable of writing again, so I hope you enjoy those headcanons. It‘s been a while since I wrote for Molly, but I still tried my best. Also, for anyone wondering: the next post is gonna be chapter 2 of Deal with the devil :>]

Arthur Morgan
You're sick:
No chance you're getting out of bed or camp. Arthur'll watch you like a hawk and makes sure that you're getting your rest.
He will ask Hosea and Charles and if he's out maybe even William if they know any medicine to what you could possibly have. At the end of the day he stands before you with his arms full of herbs and small bottles.
Arthur's happy just sitting with you and doing nothing while you're sick. If you miss riding around, he'll tell you some stories of some people he has met while he was out and about.
If you got it real bad, he'll tell you some reassuring words, whether you're awake or not.
"You got this. Don't worry." "I'll be here with you." "This'll be over in no time, you'll see. Jus‘ rest for a bit longer now."
If you're sleeping in your own tent, he'll practically beg you to come sleep with him.
"Please, honey, I don't like you bein' all alone the whole time. Come sleep with me, mh?"
Outside, he may seem pretty confident that you're gonna get healthy soon. It's just a regular flu or something, right? But on the inside he's worried about you constantly. A part of him can't think of anything else, the other thinks he's overreacting.
He's sick:
Getting this man to lay down even just for sleep is already a hustle. Convincing him that he's sick and needs rest? Good luck.
Your best bet is to get Hosea. When Arthur notices that two people he highly respects are worried about him, he'll at least stop fighting so hard.
When Arthur's down for more than like a day, you'll notice both Grimshaw and Dutch starting to harass him about camp chores and getting money in. He's too exhausted to send them away so you're gonna have to fight them off for him. With Dutch it's easy, Grimshaw might be a bigger problem.
"Not everyone can just lay around and do nothing, especially not Arthur!", she turns around and looks him in his half-lidded eyes. "I thought we taught you better than this, Mr. Morgan!"
"That's enough. He's sick, not lazy. And if anything Arthur's the most hardworking here!"
Susan looks at you with an outraged expression. "He hasn't been out making money for a few days already. The camp funds are going down!"
"So Arthur's got to bring in all of the money? What about Micah? He hasn't left camp for at least three days now. And Bill! When was even the last time he got out? They can drink and be lazy all they like but when Arthur's sick, it's his fault!?" Grimshaw looked like she wanted to say something, but you continued before she could.
"I'll cover his chores, but there are plenty of people who could easily bring in the money that's missing now. Go find someone else for that."
Eventually, Grimshaw leaves Arthur alone and finds someone else to bring in some money. Arthur had seen the whole exchance and when you came walking over to him again, he feels relief wash over him. He feels like he can finally allow himself to rest now.
Arthur loves the extra attention he gets from you. He happily accepts any attention you give him but eventually, he'll get back to work even if he's still a little bit sick. He just can't bear that you're doing all of his chores.
Charles Smith
You're sick:
He's no doctor, but he's the first to notice that you're sick. When you ignore his requests to maybe go a little slower and rest a bit more and eventually end up really sick, he's also the first one to stand by your side, arms crossed and an eyebrow raised. He's not gonna say it but his whole expression screams 'I told you so.'
Charles can't remeber too many medicine recipes from his tribe, but he'll still try and make some medicine for you.
He'll let you bury your face in his shoulder and cling to him as much as you like. Normally he prefers to recieve your affection in private more, but when you're sick he doesn't care if you want to cuddle in your tent or right infront of other people. He'll give you whatever you want.
Forget doing anything he deems as too exhausting. He's bringing you your food, don't stand up! You need a bath? He'll carry you to the river, don't tire yourself!
“Why are you up again?” “Come here, we‘ll get you to your bedroll.” “You don‘t have to go up, I‘ll bring you a bowl.”
You two normally already sit together a lot of the time. This doesn't change much except that Charles moves to sit at your bedroll now. You can watch him make arrows or carve little things out of wood.
Whenever he's sitting with you like this, other gang members chuckle and refer to him as your personal guard dog.
He's sick:
Charles will sit down and take care of himself pretty well. The only thing that really changes is that he can get a lot more affectionate all of a sudden. He wants to cuddle with you much more often and constantly needs you around.
He hates being sick, it gives him the feeling of dissapointing someone when he's not able to help around in camp. Like he owes someone to be ready all the time. Having you around makes him feel safe while he's out. And he'll tell you so.
"Thank you... for helping me."
"What else should I do? Let you suffer alone?", you smile softly. Charles chuckles.
"You're right. Still, thank you." After a moment he adds: "I love you."
He finds it really comforting to lay his head in your lap while having you play with his hair for a bit. Massaging his scalp does wonders if you want him to stop arguing with you about going up and hunting for the camp.
Sean Macguire
You're sick:
If you're heaving a headache, I'm praying for you because it's almost guaranteed that he's gonna make it worse with his constant yapping. Either you have to tell him to shut up or someone like Karen or Arthur has to.
Sean finds his ways to get around his chores in order to stay with you. Miss Grimshaw isn't happy of course, but he couldn't care less. You're sick, he's not gonna do some chores while you're laying there almost dying from your cough!
Obviously, he's going to be a bit dramatic. But if your sickness is actually a bit more serious, he'll sit with you and tell you some silly stories to make you happy.
If you can‘t get out of camp because of your illness, Sean is gonna bring you some little things he stole found while he was out.
Wanted to bring you some soup once but burnt himself while trying to pour it into the plate. Now you two sit in your tent and you have to reassure him while the Reverend cares for his hand. He‘s really emberassed by that incident.
He felt really proud of himself taking care of you like this (or trying to), that, when you‘re getting well again, he‘s a little bit dissapointed you don‘t rely on his help as much anymore.
He‘s sick:
Sean‘s going to have the MILDEST cough out there but lays in bed, covered in blankets and sweating like he‘s dying from a high fever. Like, man flu isn‘t even a term for how dramatic he is, lying in his bedroll and looking at you with his big eyes and begging you to bring him some medicine.
“I… ain‘t feelin‘ so right… *coughs* could‘ya- …could‘ya bring me sometin‘ from Strauss‘s wagon, please? *coughs again* ”
You can bet he‘s gonna insist on you spoonfeeding him. His medicine, his stew, anything. Everyone, including you, is rolling their eyes at it, but that man‘s gotta eat and he refuses to do so otherwise.
Trying to convince him to do anything for his health is gonna get ten times harder than it propably was before already. Tell him, he needs to stay in bed?
“It ain‘t that bad, don‘t ya worry. ’S gonna take more than that to keep Sean Macguire down!”
Tell him, he needs some fresh air, because he‘s gonna get nauseous otherwise?
“’M only gonna puke if I‘ll stand up. Why don‘t ya come down here with me?”
Tell him to do literally anything, because he‘s sick and you want him to feel better again? No chance. He‘s been sick a few times already, this one isn‘t going to kill him, you worry too much.
That is, unless he gets really sick. I mean the kind of sick you can‘t even bring yourself to think about getting out of bed because the thought alone makes you dizzy. In that case, he‘s getting suspiciously quiet which gives you a real reason to worry. He‘s getting paler and there‘s constantly sweat collecting on his forehead. Sean‘s gonne smile at you weakly every time you come and visit him to try and not give you any reason to worry.
When he‘s not able to leave the bed like this, he asks you to tell him everything that is going on outside. He doesn‘t want to miss out on anything plus he likes hearing your voice talking to him through his fever.
Micah Bell
You‘re sick:
Be prepared to get made fun of by him, should you tell him. Being sick or admitting to being sick is a sign of weakness to him and he won‘t take you serious at first.
He‘ll bring you some medicine, if you ask him to, but he‘ll be complaining and mocking you the whole way and back.
“What? You‘re too sick to even stand up now? Need old Micah Bell to grab you something?”
But if you‘re laying in bed and Miss Grimshaw comes walking by, complaining why you aren‘t up and working, Micah will instantly stand up for you. Usually he insists that everyone‘s got to pull their weight no matter what, but he‘ll make an exception for you.
Micah wouldn‘t be together with you if he thought you were weak, so seeing you getting all pale and sweaty makes him actually worry after some time. He‘ll stop mocking you and starts berading you instead.
“Come oonnn!”, he groans, “You ain‘t going down because of some small fever. You‘re better than this, now get up again.”
He tries to cope with his worry by trying to take you out on a few rides and robberies to show you that you aren‘t that sick, but he quickly fails, when you‘re legs give up under you after only a few steps out of bed.
“I told you I ain‘t well, Micah!”, you moan as he helps you back to your tent. “That ain‘t fair, darling. How was I supposed to know you‘re this bad?”
He‘ll sit by your bed after that, frowning like someone‘s forcing him to, and watching over you while you sleep. Anyone who dares to come up to you and bother you that isn‘t Dutch has my prayers.
Once you recover, he‘s glad to have you back by his side again. He has learned to appreciate you and all the things you‘re doing for him much more when you were gone. He‘s not gonna tell you, though.
He‘s sick:
Might even be a worse denier than Arthur is. He grew up with the mindset that if you‘re sick for longer than like three days, you‘re practically useless. As a child he has always hid whenever he was sick, but now that he‘s older and you‘re there, than doesn‘t work anymore.
“You‘re unwell!”, you say, crossing your arms before your chest, “You don‘t go nowhere.”
“Nonsense, you‘re just too worried-” A cough interrupts him.
“Oh, that‘s nonesense?”
“I had to clear my throat, now let me through!“
It takes Dutch banning Micah from riding out for him to finally settle down and rest for a bit.
For the fact that Micah notoriously avoids doing any work in camp, he‘s suprisingly restless. There has never been a time in his life, where he could just lay down and rest without any consequenzes, so he really only allows himself to relax around you.
You kinda have to trick him into resting, for example by sitting on his lap or laying on top of him while you‘re cleaning guns or something in order to trap him where he‘s sitting.
Micah knows that you want him to rest and while he‘s not keen on doing it for the sake of getting healthy again, he‘ll take advantage on the fact nonetheless.
“What are you doing up again, Micah? Didn‘t I tell you to sleep for a bit?”, you ask annoyed, as Micah comes walking over to where you‘re sitting.
“I ain‘t spending all of my damn time sleeping like some lazy dog.”, he huffs. “Except… how about a little kiss, mh?”
Micah takes more care of Baylock, than himself. When he notices that it‘s you, who keeps feeding and riding out on Baylock, he‘s actually grateful for once.
Colm O‘Driscoll
You‘re sick:
He‘s completely fine with you not going out for a few days. Colm is spending most of his time in his tent or room anyways, planning heists, thinking about how to deal with the Pinkertons and Dutch. He‘ll happily have you laying or sitting next to him.
I doubt he‘s the cuddeling type anyways, but if you‘re coughing or sweating while sick? Yeah no. Maybe he‘ll be holding your hand or hugging you if you really want him to, but he won‘t be too happy with it.
After a few days, he‘ll take you to the doctor in Valentine. He‘s gonna watch very closely while the man inspects you, making sure he‘s behaving himself.
If you‘re not better after the visit, he‘ll move you to the Hanging Dog Ranch, where you can rest in an actual room with a fireplace in it.
It doesn‘t matter how strong you normally are. Colm loves to have you rely on him as much as you do, although it annoys him a bit in the beginning. But be sure that anytime you‘re asking for him to please bring you some medicine, he‘ll bring it to you with a big smile plastered on his face.
“I got ya, sugar. Anything else ya need?”
If you‘re having a sore throat and can‘t speak because of it, he‘ll pamper you in a way that makes you question whether he‘s genuinely worried or just mocking you at this point.
“What‘s that? Aw, I can‘t hear ya sweetheart. But ya need your meds again, don‘t ya? No? Another blanket? Yess, there ya go. I‘ma get a boy ta bring it fer you, sugar.”
If you‘re getting annoyed by this, he‘ll just laugh at you while sitting back at his table and planning the next big heist.
Even while you‘re sick, Colm won‘t stop complaining about his men to you. So if you miss being outside with the boys, you‘re taken care of.
He‘s sick:
Even when he‘s got either you or Tommy as his second in command, he‘s still stressing constantly. Normally he‘s staying up late, keeping himself concentrated with a bunch of alcohol so when you tell him to lay down and rest, he refuses to do so.
However, he can be quickly convinced when offered to lay down with you together.
Colm would absolutely love to have you take care of him. He literally won‘t let anyone else (aside from the doctor) get to him.
During that time, he‘ll try and convince you that he needs your help constantly. He asks you to help him wash his hair or to help him get dressed. He‘d never show it outside of closed doors, but he looovees being pampered by you.
“Does it hurt here?“, you ask during one night while Colm‘s laying on your lap. Your hand is on his temple and he nods softly. “…yeah.”
When you bend down to kiss him on his forehead, he opens his eyes and grins at you.
“Better?”
“Much better.”
Molly O‘Shea
You‘re sick:
The second she notices you being a bit too tired or coughing, she‘s pressing her hand against your forehead and looking you up in down in worry.
“That doesn‘t feel good. Ya have been sleepin‘ alright?”
She has you promsing to her that you won‘t get up until she comes back, before she gets out of the tent and gets someone like Dutch or Strauss. She doesn‘t want to get the reverend, because she thinks he‘s not reliable when it comes to treating illnesses. Molly won‘t let anyone near you who she deems as too dirty or unhelpful.
Even if it‘s just a mild cough, Molly is gonna pace around the tent while waiting for Dutch’s and Strauss‘s judgement. When they decide that you should stay in bed for the day, Molly is by your side in an instant, holding your hand and offering you to stay with you.
She‘s happy to just read while sitting next to you. If you want her too, she‘ll read her book out loud to you.
Molly will stay pretty calm for the first two days. But once she notices that your sickness is something more serious, she‘ll start to openly voice all of her worries and complaints to you and everyone around you.
“Ya think it‘s gettin‘ better, Dutch? The forehead is still so hot…”
“How ya feelin‘ today, darling? Still tired? But… ya have been restin‘ all day long, I thought you‘d feel better by now.”
She’s a bit scared that she won‘t always find the right words and drags you down too much. So she‘d rather sit with you and just hold your hand, softly stroking over your knuckles with her thumb while smiling down at you, trying to reassure you that it‘ll surely go away soon.
In her opinion, you would be healthy again already if you would just go and see a doctor. Poor Dutch gets tons of angry glares from her for not losding you up in a wagon and getting you to the nearest town.
You‘ll propably have to calm her down a lot, showing her that you just need some rest and that you‘re gonna be fine. Hearing you talking so reassuringly actually makes her a bit calmer but she‘ll still be concerned.
Hugs you close at night. She doesn‘t care that she could potentially get sick as well, she wants to hold you tight, so she‘s going to hold you tight.
I‘d be scared to come even close to you when she‘s sitting with you. She‘ll fight Grimshaw off like a lioness.
She‘s sick:
Molly loves getting your attention, but she hates being pitied so comforting her is like walking on thin ice sometimes. You don‘t want her to feel too bad for being sick.
She gets mad if you don‘t spent a good amount of time every day by her side, comforting her or just being there by her side.
During her sickness (especially if she‘s having a fever) she‘ll ask you over and over again, if you really love her.
“…ya still love me, right?”, she asks with a weak voice.
“Of course, sweetheart. Why wouldn‘t I?” To that she will just reply by shrugging, but don‘t worry. It‘s nothing a long hug and many many kisses can‘t fix.
In her mind, people are gonna talk badly of her when she‘s laying down to rest. That‘s why she insists on having as much privacy with you as possible.
“They‘re talkin‘ again… I can hear them.”
“Who‘s talking?”
“Everyone.”, she says with a broken voice. She propably has a high fewer which can make her more sensetive to such things. Be prepared to dry some tears and kick anyone‘s ass who dares to do so much as to think badly of her.
It doesn‘t matter how weak she is feeling, she will still get dressed properly every morning and she insists on taking her medicine herself. If you want to bring her anything though, she‘ll be very flattered.
Molly appreciates you doing small things for her and even more so, when she‘s sick. Bringing her a new book to read so that she doesn‘t get bored while in bed and reading it to her will make her very happy and she‘ll fall asleep with a content smile while listening to your talking.
Felt like drawing the Van Der Linde gang going on rides at Disneyland using pics from my recent trip to Disneyland. I'd like to think that Arthur would very much enjoy the animation building at California Adventure because of all the art projected on the walls.
