This idea was cuter in my head
Mary looks like she would be a mean girl but she’s a girls girl
i’ll always love you
spoilers for RDR2
Do you guys think Charles told Mary Arthur was dead. I say this because she is in gray/black clothes when it shows this. Or did she find the grave and then change into funeral clothes. Although maybe she annually visits the grave and that was what it was showing. Idk.
hi I love adlerlinton so much and would love to hear more about what you think about them! what are your favorite mary/sadie headcanons :) or ALL of your mary/sadie headcanons I'm not picky
Oh anon, I'm so sorry. You asked this several business years ago and I had it saved in my drafts and life totally got the better of me!
I may not articulate this well but I think what I find interesting about adlerlinton is that there is this dual opportunity for them to find respite and healing in one another, and there's the risk of repeating some old patterns.
I can imagine Mary being both attracted to and exasperated with Sadie's more reckless impulses. There'd be something...familiar about it that I think would lead Mary to realize she has a type, for better or worse. It's been a long time since I've played the epilogue so take my Sadie analysis with several grains of salt, but by 1907 she's carved out an identity and a livelihood for herself that grants her tremendous agency. I'm curious about what she could perceive as threats to that agency in terms of a new romantic connection.
They're both widows who have lost the loves of their lives. I can see them possessing a deep understanding of the other that would transcend explanation. And at the same time, grief has a tendency to complicate. It surfaces at inopportune times and can draw people together as much as it can wedge them apart.
I think Sadie would be a tether to Arthur that Mary never knew she'd have. I can only imagine the questions Mary would (or wouldn't) want to ask. There'd be so much context about what Arthur and the gang went through post-Blackwater that Mary would never have access to otherwise, beyond newspaper clippings and her own assumptions. And I wonder how that would make Sadie feel.
I imagine Sadie would be a bit of a stone top at first. Easier to control how vulnerable she is if she puts all her focus on Mary (who, God bless her, deserves to live the pillow princess lifestyle, okay??) But I think with time and care she could find herself willing to soften and lower her guard and rediscover what receiving pleasure could be like again.
Mary Linton as a Hightower with a Targaryen family
Her husband doesn't have a name yet (also, he's dead), but their son is named Baelor. I got the idea since I thought it pretty probably that a someone from a house as religious as the Hightowers would name their Targaryen kid after Baelor the blessed, and then I also decided to make him look like young Maekar (or at least the fuckass bangs are similar to the popular headcannon).
Additionally, I want to add that the marriage is obviously arranged, BUT the Targaryen husband isn't like a horrible person or anything awful. I did not want Mary to suffer.
