Andie took a deep breath before she opened the door to the bar, a nervous excitement bubbling up in her. She looked around for Will, smiling to herself when she spotted him off by himself and tried her best not to run right over. She knocked gently on the bar when she got to him. “Funny seeing you here,” she joked, internally cringing. What was with her today?

DJ still can’t believe that this is happening. Wasn’t the whole point of Dad getting out of the life that they stay out? She eyed her brother cautiously, not sure how to say what she was thinking without Ciaran immediately going on the defensive. “Are you sure you’ve really thought this through?” she asked him finally, figuring that seemed concerned but not too push.

Chloe looked down at her phone as it buzzed and stared at the screen in disbelief for a moment before sighing loudly. “Are you fucking kidding me?” she asked her phone as if it would answer. He wasn’t coming. Great. Just fucking great. It wasn’t like she’d been waiting here for an hour and a half on her only day off in a week for him. “Of course he bailed. Of fucking course he did. Because why wouldn’t he?” she asked no one in particular, letting out a bitter laugh before downing the rest of her drink. If only she’d cancelled to binge watch baking shows like she’d wanted to.

“i think you are,” she tells him, small smile on her face as she rests her hand on his forearm across the case. “you’re good, maybe not all the time, but you’re good to me, you’re good to the kids, you’re better than you realize.” she gives his arm a gentle squeeze. she turns to grab the rag so she can finish cleaning the case for the night. “what brought all this on?”
