Mollymauk did not want to die. They had done that once already, and avoiding it was one of their core tenants. But another was to not lose themself again. And letting go of even this one bundle of feelings for someone would be a sharp betrayal of that. An irreversible hollowing of the self. They had once crawled from the earth with the word “empty” on their tongue, but now the opposite was true. They were too full of flowers, too full of this stupid puppy love. They sat alone, flipping through their oracle cards, staring down a loser’s choice.

Tomura’s thoughts were floating through jelly, though the feeling was not unpleasant. On some level, he could vaguely remember the fact that he’d been spelled, that he’d probably be much more belligerent in his own right mind. But the thought refused to stay for very long. It didn’t really matter anyway. He was here with Mollymauk, who only ever had their puppet’s best interests at heart. Tomura didn’t need to worry about a thing. There wasn’t room in a puppet’s head for worries.
