Think there's an baby photo Clay is actually embarrassed by?
Not in the traditional sense, but yes.
Clay was a very cute baby, and his mother loved taking photographs of him in his glory moments. Clay looks adorable and capable in all his baby photos, and Momma Bailey took them at all his best moments.
Whether he's just eaten a whole lemon pie or is chopping down a tree or shoeing a horse or wrassling a pig, there's a prized family photo of it on display in an album.
Despite his stagefright in front of camcorders, Clay is perfectly photogenic in front of a camera, especially in candids. And all baby photos are basically candids.
...However. The thing is, Jesse has fewer photos than Clay, and she tended to always make a mess of herself during the times for formal family photographs. So a lot of the photographs, if Clay thinks about them too long, come with this complicated mix of emotions around the moments just on the periphery of the photograph.
Like this one, for example. Jesse scared away the pig and hopped on Clay, which is the sort of moment that would be adorable and picteresque, but Daddy Bailey was having to catch and calm that pig down, and Momma Bailey wasn't going to take a photo of Clay having me dropped in the mud like that, so that moment wasn't captured anywhere except Clay's memories.
Scenarios like that happened a lot. Sometimes when the camera was pointed at Clay, Jesse would kick up a fuss out of jealousy or anger. Sometimes when the camera was pointed at Clay, Jesse would run over to hang out with her beloved big brother, and since the farm animals were scared of Jesse or just out of some other complications, this usually ruined the scene in some way.
There is a sort of embarrassment Clay tries not to think about in how things went with Jesse at times like that.
The Bride and her ugly Groom
Jk Daddy Bailey is ight BUT HIS WIFE THOOOOO OMGGGGG!!!!
FANART OF @jillybean2011 Mamma Bailey's design BECUZ I LOVE IT SM AND ITS SOOOO PEAK!!! She break me free from Tomodachi Life fr!!!! She is the Maternal figure that the Xiaolin gang needs ngl
I rewatched The Mitchells vs the machines yesterday and I spotted this lovely decoration in Mitchells' kitchen.
Now I can't help but grin because Clay's mom would totally hang something like that in her kitchen!
Well after getting back into the cartoon that started me down the long dark path of fandoms, Xiaolin Showdown, I decided to post my updated version of what I think Momma Bailey would look like. Also updated Jesse Bailey as well. Added little brother Patty too.
I continue to plague ya’ll with my Xiaolin Showdown art. This time, Omi asks Mrs. Bailey for a favor.
…Omi just became Mrs. Bailey’s favorite monk.
Okay if Master Fung doesn't teach Omi how to respect Modern Women properly, Mama Bailey should do so, being straightforward and real with him on why it's important to respect women
This took me an embarrassing long time.
Ya'll wanna ask me stuff about my Xiaolin Showdown headcanons?
I don't mind. I'm autistic enough to answer anything you can throw at me.
