Chromeo - Momma's Boy
Flatware: Acquired
Y'all. It finally happened.
Ever since my mom moved back to Hungary in the summer of 2018, I've had nothing but mismatched flatware (at least 4 different types of spoons, 7 different knives, 5 different forks of all various shapes and sizes and brands, you name it).
I've been consciously and subconsciously on the hunt for a proper full silverware (I mean, okay, flatware, because stainless steel ISN'T silver) set for about... 7 years now? Pretty much my entire "adult" life?
So much so that when I was 20 years old, my first official "date" with my then-girlfriend was us literally going around to a bunch of different stores and looking at silverware options to see if we could find the set that felt "just right"—we couldn't.
Tonight, after a TREMENDOUS amount of deliberation, I have finally set my eyes on the Winco Peacock collection, as it's made of 18/8 commercial-grade stainless steel, has a nice design, and is nice and heavy, meaning this is absolutely 100% a buy-it-for-life purchase.
I messaged my mom about my findings, asking for her feedback—the allegations of me being a momma's boy are very hard to beat—and she said they look very pretty and she kept asking me about the price.
I had originally picked out a tablespoon, dinner fork, dinner knife, and demitasse spoons (those little tiny coffee spoons for putting sugar in your tea and stirring it). She said that just will not do, as I need to get a small fork set in the mix too, so I added oyster forks and upgraded from the "dinner fork" to the "table fork" (which is just like... the same thing but 1/2" taller, I think?)...
Then my mom said something along the lines of, "Okay, that all looks good now, go ahead and order it with my card as an early Christmas present."
So... now, at 26, something that I've been searching for—my very own, personal silverware/flatware set—has finally been identified, AND my mom's insisted on paying for the whole 60-piece set (table setting for TWELVE).
It feels like a puzzle piece of my life finally having clicked into place, and I am very happy about this development. YAY! :D

No one is more emotionally unstable than a T-Rex whose mom went to the train station to check the mail without him.
