Burnt Out & No Where To Go
Yesterday was: “one of those days”. Overwhelmed, burnt out, sad: I left my home and wandered about the town alone; with no where to go.
After a little while, I picked my mom up from the airport, and she was sharing with me the book she finished on the plane. Something about battling spiritual warfare (She prefaced, ”Don’t worry, Eden, it’s not just about the scary things...”) And she shared about the Enemy finding one big lie, the one foothold that he has, and how he uses it to beat a thousand little lies into you.
Then I confessed to her, right then and there, that that was exactly what had happened to me, just hours before I picked her up. That I had that foothold, and that it was beating my spirit to the ground.
I was burnt out, exhausted, alone. But I did have somewhere to go... I had my mom, my best friend, my ear, my encourager. And she lead me right back to Jesus.
