4.05 tagumo attacks!!! – for @eaion
the scenes with mona, ava, and nora were so fucking sweet i love how eventually ava n nora opened up + mona is just??? so sweet?? like hello i love not one but TWO iconic female trios in this fucking show
if you need me i’ll be deep in my feelings for every single female character in legends
Synopsis for Tender is the Nate.
i love how ava is letting mona be sweeter to the monsters
it makes me so happy
Sara: Is...is that a herd of unicorns?
Ray: Is a group of unicorns actually a "herd?"
Mona: It's actually a "blessing."
Constantine: That depends on your point of view, girlie.
Hi, so unpopular opinion but I don't care for Mona. I'd like her a lot more if she had even a slightly different personality but she's basically just Girl Gary. I love Gary but the show doesn't need two of him. I'm also worried for him since he's pretty expendable now that there's a member of the time beurau with the same personality but with a specific skill that Gary doesn't have. I don't see why he couldn't have been the creatures expert though. Any thoughts?
Mona’s personality is certainly very strong and she does fit the lovable idiot bill like Gary, but I like to think that they fulfill the same role with different takes: Gary is someone who just tries so hard and fails spectacularly to the point of charm or annoyance, while Mona is someone who is so intent on being friends that you can’t help but either love her or find her irritating.
Gary is still more well-versed in time travel than Mona, and is well aware of both the regulations and the dangers procuring the refugees has, but knows little about the creatures individually. Mona knows about the dangers of the creatures themselves, but isn’t trained or capable of assisting directly. I think Mona being placed in the past would be a terrible idea - Gary, at least, understands the value of being discreet. I don’t think Mona’s read that book, yet.
Plus, there’s also the whole Mona/Gary thing they hinted at, so it’s possible that the two of them become two sides of the same coin anyway - one at the Bureau with the creatures, and one with the Legends in the field. Who knows what they’re planning at this point.
As far as not liking Mona, I’m still waiting to pass judgment until we’ve got more of her under our belts. She’s only been important in one episode thus far, and it’s hard to truly judge how good a character is on such limited screen time. At least, fairly. Her first impressions don’t sit very well with me, though, because I find those in-your-face-let’s-be-friends-plzkthx characters a bit irritating.
Thanks for your question!
