I’m watching episode 3 of Monarch S2, and I love how insanely messy all three gens of the Randas are

Keiko cheating on her husband (and without even letting Billy join!!! For shame!!!) in a remote Chilean cabin after almost dying

Hiroshi having to tell his mom that he was a polygamist with two wives and two families

Cate getting fucked up in the club and hoping that Titan does strike her down

I still cry over this image and what could have been for them if the writers weren't cowards

Me, sobbing and throwing things around the room in an emotional rampage: HE NEEDS THEM!! THEY'RE THE TWO MOST BRILLIANT PEOPLE HE'S EVER MET AND HE CAN'T BE WITHOUT THEM!! HE TRIED TO BE WITHOUT THEM FOR THEIR OWN SAKE AND HE COULDN'T DO IT BECAUSE HE LOVES THEM SO MUCH I AM INCONSOLABLE!!!

The one thing I really appreciated in this episode is how Lee said outright that Keiko loved two men. I'm giving the writers their flowers here, because I love how Lee approaches the way things were between them.

There's no "she secretly loved me not him" or not even "she loved me more". It's just that she loved them both. He knows that. The same way she said it in the letter, how they both love Bill.

The three of them were messy and narratively doomed, but the love was always there and never denied among the three of them. That matters.
