Only now am I realizing that Matt Fraction co created and executive produced Monarch Legacy of Monsters and any lingering feeling of like “oh no maybe the creators didn’t intend to make Bill and Keiko and Lee vaguely a throuple and I’m not playing nice with their toys” has left my body. It’s gooooooooooooooone. Exit stage left. Even if that wasn’t the intent at all, I can’t think of almost any creator who would mind less if you make his characters polyamorous bisexuals.

Oh my fucking god they’re Matt Fraction characters. Holy shit.

I think the three of them are soulmates in a way, and you know, it’s not Billy & Keiko, it’s not Keiko & Lee… It couldn’t have happened with any of them missing. So in that sense, I think they all belong together. That’s how I like to think of it.

The one thing I really appreciated in this episode is how Lee said outright that Keiko loved two men. I'm giving the writers their flowers here, because I love how Lee approaches the way things were between them.

There's no "she secretly loved me not him" or not even "she loved me more". It's just that she loved them both. He knows that. The same way she said it in the letter, how they both love Bill.

The three of them were messy and narratively doomed, but the love was always there and never denied among the three of them. That matters.

my sweet little baby is getting so grown up I love it and I hate it and I wish the cultural message I had been getting for years about kids was less like “kids are so stressful and hard to deal with so prepare yourself to handle stress” and more like “having a baby and watching them grow up and thinking about their physical and mental wellbeing at all times and try to make sure you raise them well and getting to know them as individuals is going to make you feel every single emotion in the spectrum of human emotions all at once constantly so good luck with that one lol
