yeah that's the general consensus. 8tracks is dead and has been for a while.

The reason I was even considering migrating a sample of my playlist to the site is because of how they took away the listening limit.  Sure you get ads, but you can listen to as much as you want again.  So I wasn’t sure if maybe the site would become the popular place again.  That, and I honestly don’t know if Spotify and playmoss have been viable alternatives for fanmixes or if the form as a whole has just kinda gone to the wayside as a result.  

My McCree mix is the first time I’ve ever actually gotten off my ass and fully made and published a mix.  I’ve been wanting to create fanmixes since back in my peak RvB fandom days (and god that was a while ago).  But considering I’ve finally jumped in during an era where 8tracks majorly fucked up in the process of trying to save their site from financial ruin...it’s hard to say what the “climate” is or whatever for these things.
