The Renaissance portal of the Parish Church of Moncarapacho, in the Algarve. This portal was built by André de Pilarte, a famous regional architect that also worked in the Hieronymites Monastery (in Lisbon). Pilarte was the creator of the wonderful portal of the Misericórdia (Charity) Church of Tavira, a temple that ended up influencing many other mid-XVI Century churches of southern Portugal - including this Parish Church of Moncarapacho, one of the best example of what scholars usually call "The Tavira School".
