God the Creator and His Creation
Won't be able to type here the whole 3 chapters, but you can read them using your Bible or via https://www.biblegateway.com/ 😊
Genesis 1-2:1-7 - History of Creation
On the 1st day, God made the light and called it day and made darkness and called it night.
On the 2nd day, God made the sky.
On the 3rd day, God made the dry ground and called it land and the water and called it seas. He also made the trees and plants.
On the 4th day, God made the two great lights, the sun and the moon. He also made the stars.
On the 5th day, God made the sea creatures and the bird in the sky.
On the 6th day, God created all kinds of living creatures - cattle, creeping thing, and beast. He also created man in His own image.
On the 7th day, God blessed and sanctified it because he rested from all His work which He created and made.
God saw His creation as good.
Genesis 2:8-25 - Life in God's Garden
God had prepared every thing even to the smallest detail. He gave authority to the man to take care of the garden of Eden and name all the animals He made.
God made every tree pleasant to the eyes and good for eating. The tree of life was in the midst of the garden, as well as the tree of the knowledge of good and evil wherein the latter one God commanded the man to not eat.
God saw a need -- He saw that "it is not good that man should be alone..." Thus, He created a helper for Him. He took one of the man's ribs and made it into a woman.
The man and woman were made to be together, to be as one-- to become one flesh.
Genesis 3 - The Temptation and Fall of Man
The serpent tempted the woman first and the she fell into the trap for she saw that "the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise..."
She shared the fruit that she got from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil to her husband, the man. The man, without any hesitation, ate the fruit. Then that's when both of their eyes were opened and knew that they were naked. After knowing about their situation, they sewed fig leaves together as their clothes or to cover up themselves.
The man and woman were scared and afraid when they heard the the sound of the Lord walking in the garden, so they immediately hid themselves from God's presence.
God asked them first who told them that they were naked and if they ate from the tree that He told them not to eat.
The man pointed his finger to the woman and the woman pointed her finger to the serpent.
God cursed the serpent. He also said some things to the woman and the man (vv. 16-19)
The man, Adam, and the woman, Eve, were sent out of the garden of Eden by God.
God placed a cherubim and a flaming sword to guard the way to the tree of life.
Genesis 1-2:1-7 - History of Creation
God created every thing from scratch. He is the mastermind of all this.
God is the ONLY creator and maker of EVERY THING!
Genesis 2:8-25 - Life in God's Garden
God loved His creation, thus entrusting the man in taking care of the garden and even naming all the animals He created.
God made every tree pleasant to the eyes and good for eating. The tree of life was in the midst of the garden, as well as the tree of the knowledge of good and evil wherein the latter one God commanded the man to not eat.
God made every thing and He had only one command to the made which is not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The man just had to obey God's command to Him about that.
God saw and knew what the man needed that time which resulted to giving Him someone to be with, the woman.
The man and woman are meant to be as one.
Genesis 3 - The Temptation and Fall of Man
The evil will really tempt you where he sees you are weak. He won't stop until you give in.
Maybe she thought that sharing the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil to her husband was the right thing to do. Or maybe it is to "share" the consequence and punishment, since she knew beforehand that they were commanded not to eat the fruit from that tree.
God told them that they should not eat nor touch the fruit for they will die. I guess this means that the man and woman will "die" in terms of not being with God and since their eyes were opened, it was death for them because of they had the awareness already -- good and evil. And I guess that's why it was called the Fall of Man.
The man and woman disobeyed the Lord, they know deep inside of them what they did and I think that was part of the awareness that I mentioned -- knowing between good and evil. So that is why what they immediately did is hide because they know they are in the wrong. Also, I think the effect of their disobedience is pulling yourself away from God's presence because the first thing that they did was hide from His presence, right? So I think that is why, too, we do that - we hide from God, we retreat ourselves from His presence. And I guess when we go back to Him, there'll be times that we feel and think that we are not allowed or we are not worthy enough to be with Him which could be the reason that we back away or we withdraw ourselves from Him?
I think it is a good thing that He asked them first, it is not like He immediately got angry at them. That's how much God loves them, us.
I think pointing fingers doesn't do any good to anyone, even if you're the victim. I think it'd be much better to admit your wrong/s and apologize. Yet that doesn't mean that it is okay to keep doing the wrongdoings and just apologize. You have to own up your wrong and try your best to not do it again.
With our wrongdoings, there is a consequence, a punishment.
No one is like God since He is the ONLY creator and maker of all.
We are tasked to take care of His creation. We are His stewards here on Earth.
The Lord already knows what we need even before we tell Him. He gives us what He needs as long as He knows that it'll help us, it'll be best for us IN HIS EYES.
The evil is everywhere. It is just waiting for the right time to get to us, especially when we are weak, when we feel that we are far from God or that God doesn't love us, which by the way is not true. He loves us for all we know, that we cannot even understand the way He shows His love towards us.
Disobeying God doesn't result to anything good. Well, it results to something bad which is what we call consequence and punishment.
When we disobey God, we tend to close ourselves, but it is never too late to confess and repent and of course, obey Him.
Lord, I am thankful that I was able to do this again. I know it has been a long time, but here I am, again, studying and reading Your Word. Help me God to keep on doing this to know You more, to deepen my relationship with you, so that He'll reflect in me - in all that I do, say, and think, and even with how they are done.
