Fighting Foodons/Bistro Recipe

I don’t know if you guys remember, but there was a show on FoxBox called Fighting Foodons. Years later I look it up, and it was actually called Kakuto Ryori Densetsu Bistro Recipe, and it had a couple of WonderSwan games and a GameBoy game.

If you don’t know or remember, it was a show where you could transform actual food into monsters with some Taoist strip of paper, and you battled them. I’m guessing the better you cook your meal, the stronger the monster. The MC’s major Foodon was a dude called Fried Ricer.

But the funny thing about this is, fried rice is just a basic meal for people in Japan. So that’s about as good of a chef the MC is (whose name is Zen/Chase by the way, lol).

I think he “evolved” his dish in a way by adding lobster to it.

Actually, as I’m writing this, turns out it’s not lobster but shrimp, and there’s variations in the games.

Also, at one point my mind kept hanging on the phrase “spaghettaboutit”, which is a hilarious pun if you think about it.

Turns out, it was a Foodon all along!

Zen also kept around this one Foodon, which was just a bunch of burnt meatballs!

So yeah, lemme know if you losers remember this shit, and hopefully I can get this trainwreck of a franchise moving again!
