Monday Madness: I need a Vision please ✨🌟
TRIGGER WARNING: I LOVE my job and wouldn’t switch it for the world. I feel as if I found myself here.
TRIGGER TRIGGER WARNING: this IS NOT JUST ABOUT WORK but other aspects of my life as well.
IN CASE I NEED TO VERIFY: I MEAN NO HARM IN THIS POST, its only to express an opinion which last time I checked EVERYONE had a freedom to express. So please refrain from scouting my social media to promote any sort of drama. Please and thank you.
Raise your hand if you’re one of those people that require things to be spelled out phonetically, italicized and underlined for you to grasp it…..or if you’re a visual learner and are blind if you can’t see it….most of the time…… Yep that’s me folks. And I’m sure there are people reading this who will follow.
Now granted, some things just require a little common sense. When you wake up in the morning on a Monday, you get dressed for work and arrive at your time frame. You clock in and go to your assigned area. My job? Throw all preplaned ideas out the third floor window because ANYTHING goes after you cross the threshold into this place.
Scheduling is never permanent. Its to help familurize ourselves with change, other classroom settings and allow rotation if someone’s out. That’s all and well.
What’s NOT well at all is the lack of info prior to these changes. I’m not demanding a perfect schedule. I’m asking for CLARIFICATION.
Lets jump right into why I’m ranting this beautiful Monday Morning (I don’t knock Mondays its a day like all the others really.),
Isaiah and I woke up at 7:00 am to ride the 7:30am bus. We got to the terminal around 8:05am. All this was preplaned (keep in mind this was my first mistake) I figured since today was our in service meeting. I would dress a little nicer. Nothing too fancy. An Appropriate in legnth dress with blavk stripes and a nice earth tone color. Practically a t-shirt dress. however my purse stands out. A hot pink and black bag with a black and gold bow on the front. I wanted it to add chicness without overkilling. I combed out my fro and even did a little extra baby hair fun.
Lets just say I received a little scrutiny because on this particular day we were required to clean our class rooms. (Didn’t really think about that) but regardless we cleaned very well and I had no issues.
My point is this:
I feel like those in power positions should prepare for events and meetings by first letting those around them COMPLETELY aware of what will be happening.
Having a meeting at a certain time is great. But if there’s some sort of activity that requires comfortable clothing that we should know. TELL US. Its safe to assume some won’t know this and thats not to say we’re spacey or unaware. We just need more specified direction so we won’t get lost.
I understand this won’t be a thing that happens all the time. But it would help if a few people in our lives would respect our learning style and apply it to us.
