“Cervezas, Burritos y Rock 'n' Roll"

Heute stelle ich euch das Mongogo in Köln vor, eine kleine Location im Herzen der Metropole am Rhein. Klein, trashig, aber fein. Diese Umschreibung passt wohl am besten zu diesem Ort, an dem man nicht nur gut essen, sondern auch verdammt gut tanzen, quatschen und - natürlich - etwas trinken kann! Vom hausgemachten Chili, über leckere Burritos, bishin zum Gurkenschnaps alá Hausmarke, der jedoch sehr speziell schmeckt, kann man hier auch des Öfteren in den Genuss von etwas Live Musik, Vorlesungen oder Stand Up Comedians kommen! Zudem gibt es einmal im Monat den sog. “Stompin’ Saturday”, an diesem Abend wird hauptsächlich Psychobilly auf Vinyl gespielt, was dem Ganzen einen trashigen Retrotouch und das Gefühl einer Zeitreise verpasst! Bilder von der besagten Party habe ich leider keine, da ich mit Wein, Weib und Gesang beschäftigt war und mein Telefon lieber in der Jackentasche stecken lasse, allerdings habe ich ein paar Bilder von einem “außerplanmäßigen” Abendessen dort, als ich die Weihnachtseinkäufe erledigt hatte und in der Nähe war.

Das Voodoo-Chili! Lecker angerichtet und angenehm scharf! Am liebsten hätte ich eine zweite Portion gefuttert! Mit rund 8,-€ jeden Cent wert!

Der Mongogo! Was drin war, habe ich schon vergessen, aber lecker und fruchtig war er allemal!

Die Localität aus der Sicht unseres Platzes. Wie man hier gut erkennen kann, möchte man meinen, man wäre in einem Tarantino-Film gefangen!

Irgendwann folgen auch mal weitere Bilder, da dieses Lokal mein Lieblingsort geworden ist und schreibe dann einen etwas längeren Text. Bin ja nicht grad’ der absolute super-duper-tumblr-Nerd. Außerdem bin ich faul.

August 2016 Loves and Loathes

This month has been a mixture of things I've really enjoyed and things I have not loved at all. As I like to finish on a positive note, I will start out with the three items I did not love this month.

Loathes

The first being Skyn Iceland Cooling Daily Lotion. I got this a while ago in one of my subscription boxes, I can't remember which. And it's supposed to have a cooling sensation on your face that you leave on. However it has the exact opposite effect, my face felt like it was on fire and melting off. It was so painful, I'm positive I was allergic to it. And yes, I should've tested it on the back of my hand first but I didn't do that. Finally, were the two makeup remover/cleansing wipes that I got in each of my subscription boxes this month: Symphony Beauty Makeup Cleansing Wipes and Acure Coconut and Argan Oil Cleansing Towelettes. These do not remove any makeup without serious scrubbing at the skin. The Symphony Beauty Makeup Cleansing wipes were comfortable as just a quick wipe but don't expect it to take off any makeup. The Acure Cleansing Towelettes do make my skin feel nice but doesn't do its purpose.

Loves/Favorites

Now onto the loves/favorites of the month…

The beauty items I've been loving are Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in the shade Patina. As at the end of the month, I decided I was going to stop using/promoting brands that test on animals I will not be getting the rest from this collection as Stila does test on animals. The color is gorgeous so I need to find a dupe from a cruelty free brand, if you know one please let me know as I would love to try it. I have also seriously been loving metallic lipsticks especially from ColourPop Metallic Lip in the shade Maneater and Milani Amore Matte Metallics Lip Crème in Matterialistic. Next I have been loving Mongogo Coconut Vanilla Lip conditioner to put on before I do liquid lipsticks so my lips stay hydrated all day long. Going onto nails I've been obsessed with Dollface from Formula X. It's a beautiful pale pink color. I have also been loving Tarte LipSurgence Lip Crème in the shade wonder. Lastly for beauty products I have Tarte Shape tape concealer, I got this in a subscription box that I will not be purchasing again. They give you the items in generic containers with just a label stating what it's supposed to be. If it was that, that I'm in love with the shape tape and will be purchasing the full size where I'm sure I'll love it more since it will have the actual applicator.

The last thing I've been loving this month is the Netflix show: Stranger Things. There is a lot of hype for this show and does take several episodes to get seriously into it. And I found it very predictable so I didn't find certain moments as scary as others have as I was expecting them. I'm not going to give away spoilers but I have a lot of theories about the end of the series and I hope there is another season of this show on Netflix.
