Seriously this episode is just a perfect jumping off point for a Monhardt fic. 😭 If I didn't already have like 10 WIPs I'd write it.

Nick and Monroe chatting about the case of the week while Monroe folds laundry AAAAAAGH. Monroe complaining about Nick's socks getting mixed in with his stuff! They're so domestic! I can't.
Truly best thing to come out of all the pain of season 2.
im rewatching Grimm again and like,,,, nick and monroe have 100% explored each others bodies. just saying.
You'll get no argument from me! All the casual touches...
Their little dates...
The significant looks and mirroring each other!
Then there were the homoerotic training montages, the sneaking around together (and talking about it like it was an affair even) all season one, literally they were roommates for half of season two...the list goes on!
They even got the iconic "two men sitting on a park bench no feet apart etc. etc." scene!
Absolutely they have explored each other's bodies.
Nick and Monroe are so cute when they think they're being clever. Painful to watch, but adorable.
The fact that Monhardt fully got a "who did this to you" and everything.
They fight so well together.
In which I look at this scene through ship-colored glasses.
“You’re still in love with her, aren’t you?”
Nick’s voice has such an odd note to it when he asks that. His shoulders are a little slumped, too. He looks almost...defeated. Because Monroe has never stonewalled him like this before. He’s never just flat refused to help. And Nick can’t help but read into that.
But then Monroe says “No, I’m not.”
And I swear when Nick sighs, he almost sounds relieved.
It still looks like it hurts Nick when Monroe refuses to help, but at least he knows what the reason is...and isn’t.
(I can’t help but wonder what Monroe must have been thinking after Nick left. Did he worry that Nick would get hurt? That Angelina would? That they would hurt each other, even kill each other?
Did he ask himself Angelina’s question again? “Which would hurt more?”)
Nick saying “good boy” to Monroe and the Look Monroe shoots at him. But he doesn’t even grumble because Nick gives him that crooked smile.
