A Heart, Frozen in Time: my first complete multi-chapter work, with Kralsei at its core. Adventure, danger, drama, angst, fluff, introspection and love epiphanies - it has it all! There's going to be a sequel to this, so might be worth brushing up before that comes out :3

Another Choice; OR, Somewhere In The Space Between: A more Queerplatonic take on Kralsei with metafictional elements. Explores all the different ways a single scene can play out based on a hypothetical player's choice of dialogue options, combined with Kris's interpretations of how those options play out.

BitterSweethearts: This one plays on the tension inherent in the fact that Kris is possessed by the player and thus has little agency of their own. Faced with that fact, would Ralsei knowingly pursue romance with them? Slightly darker than my regular fare!

The Hands That Held Me: My most recent Kralsei work, centered on the idea of Kris being neglectful of their hands, and Ralsei taking care of them... because those same hands took care of him when he was their headband. It's sweet and sudsy with a touch of angst, and focusing on gentle tactile touches.

what are your thought about the ending of chapter 4? (hopefully you already played it..)

Honestly... too many to properly articulate! But wow, it was just one gut punch right after another, wasn't it?

The Fun Gang all fighting their way to the Knight at the end as a full team, taking it in turns to soak up the punishment being inflicted on them... oh my god I love them sososososo much...

EVERYTHING about the Titan encounter. Just... wow.

Susie smashing the last Prophecy panel, and the dread that ran though me when I thought she was gonna full on regress back into Chapter 1 mode... and Ralsei sinking to his knees and crying, his face covered in Susie's blood... augh...!

"You don't have to smile"... and the fact that Kris HUGS RALSEI OF THEIR OWN VOLITION and gives him the space to be scared and upset ToT ToT ToT

Ralsei telling Kris that their piano playing was cool right at the end! Oh my god this line... THIS! LINE! I have SO much I want to say about it but I just... oh my god, the implications... he likes Kris for KRIS, and not because of us!

It's Raining Somewhere Else... do I even have to say it?

And then the whole ending with Toriel and Sans and... ugh, god, that cut me SO DEEP. Kris just can't catch a damn break can they?

So, uh, yeah! Those are my thoughts so far! Haven't done Weird Route yet... and honestly, given some of what I hear about it I... kinda don't want to? Not just because of the whole... Snowgrave thing, but... I dunno, the whole situation with Carol and the Knight and... ugh. I may attempt it much, MUCH later, but... not just now, haha.

in regards to the last post about ralsei ships, i feel like the lighter darker dynamic is actually really interesting-

what if it's trying to say something?

like you know thefun gang, specifically Kris and Susie probably want ralsei to be aware that being your own person is ok, having a personality is ok. you don't have to treat them as a god.

what if it's mirroring the interactions between the player and the characters, maybe later on in the chapters they also realise that THEY are treating us like their god, listening to our actions and whatnot.

ralsei having these beliefs of serving the lighters might actually make Susie and the other lightners more aware of kris' situation. once Susie matches the puzzle pieces and realizes what's happening to kris, they would start to become self aware that they are being controlled by the player.

so basically to sum it all up i think the interactions that'll happen with ralsei and the lightners will make them more self aware since the situation ralsei's in, is very similar to the situation THEY're in.

No, yeah, exactly! The way that the lightner/darkner situation parallels the player/lightner situation feels very intentional, and looking at the way that Kris and Susie will slowly convince Ralsei that actually he doesn't have to adhere to his slavish devotion and that he can be his own person and pursue his own goals... well, you can see the ways that mirrors Kris's struggle with their own identity issues, on top of the whole player/SOUL nonsense.

Of course, the difference is that the dark worlds give darkners a chance at parity with lightners in the first place, to have direct interaction and dialogue, and work out their differences to come up with a mutually-beneficial arrangement. This would be very difficult to achieve with us as players - unless of course Mr. Fox has somehow developed a way to beam our consciousness directly into the discarded vessel or something! And there we see the sheer gulf in power and influence we wield over Kris - no dialogue can be established, we can't communicate in any meaningful way. And until some way of doing so is developed, or something else happens to change the dynamic, Kris can never fully be themself, no matter how much we might try to "act out" their preferences.

Perhaps the simple act of bringing our existence to everyone's attention might allow them to come up with a mutually-beneficial solution, which would certainly be nice... but what if that's not possible? If Kris and the player cannot find a way to peacefully coexist, then does that mean the lightners' attempts to uplift the darkners into equality is also doomed to failure?
