Sketch of the Day (August 18th 2015) - I was watching the excellent show Monkey Thieves and this happened. I actually really don’t like monkeys usually, but since beginning to watch Monkey Thieves I’ve developed a certain fondness for Rhesus Macaques. The graceful way that they move, is, for a primate, quite poetic and as quadrupeds they are pretty fantastic. They’re amazingly dextrous with their hands (it seriously amazes me how well they can use their fully prehensile hands as hands, yet still gallop and leap with them like paws,) and with their sweeping, soft looking golden fur, they are actually fairly easy on the eyes as far as monkeys go. I would not want to live anywhere that had them because they are clearly terrible pests (they put most of the animals that North Americans find annoying to shame) but they are gorgeous too. Very opportunistic if naughty critters though!
This fellow is definitely inspired by Bipin, if you’ve seen the show. :) Sketch is gestural from memory, so anatomy has not been checked.
