I think it’s pretty telling, that both Sophia and A-Chan met their best friend as she was falling off a tree? Monkey-Girl falls of a tree branch directly on her, while Bakarina falls down at her side for completely unrelated reasons.
They are both chance encounters, unexpected, related to trees, and to Bakarina falling off them.
It’s... symbolic really.
