Monster Lover's March 2025 day 10 orc
A World of Tedreld story for @monluvmarch event Monster Lover's March 2025 day 10 orc. This cover the origin story of my half orc oc Tim and how his parents meet for the first time.
In a orc village in the Blackmoot Swamps near the Kingdom of Martigles, the villagers are going about their life when a group of human nomads come in the village and the orc chieftain Vidagog, a big male orc whose is shirtless and have a sword striped to his back, ask them, "Who are you to come to our village, humans?" and a old man wearing a brown hood come forward and speak to Vidagog, "We are humans with no home from the east. Our land was conquered by dark elves, and we want a new home. The Kingdom of Martigles refuse us, so we ask that we live among your people." Vidagog think for a moment before he laugh, "You weak humans think you will live among us just by asking us. You are true fools." and he then order his warriors, "Cast them back into the swamps." and a brown hair human woman wearing metal and fur armor and axe in hand step forward and said to Vidagog, "I'm Steinunn, daughter of Eldgrim. I challenged you, orc, to a duel!" Vidagog is amazed by this woman's strength and he then said, "Very well, Steinunn. I will accepted your duel."
Years later, Steinunn recount this tale to her six years old half orc son Tim, "That was how your father and I meet. I won the duel, of course, in part because your father was not expected to fight a woman one day and I did take him by surprise. With my victory, my people were allowed to live with us orcs as honorable orcs.” Tim ask his mother, "But mama, I hear stories that it was a draw." and Steinunn said with her face turning red, "Well, your father didn't tell the second half of the duel and he got me good. We were both tired from the duel that Vidagog and I agree to let it end on a draw, and we then got married and have you, Tim. Your father does said how non-orc your name was when I give it to you."
