PART 1

I! turned! my! hyperfixation! into! an! art! class! assignment!!!!! BOOM!! painting sketches, pencil rendition, and the FULL PAINTED THING!!! i’ve had it for almost a year now and never did anything with it. now it’s hanging up under my living room clock, and is currently watching beetlejuice 1 deadpool & wolverine with my mom lmao (the entire house is decked out in halloween stuff, and grey fits right in!). im still proud of it even today :]

in the process of making this epic painting, i figured out a very neat tree style i will definitely use again. also on the far left of the colored pencil sketch thing, there’s a metaphor for grey and saturate (tall broken tree collapsing on young tree) because thats awesome.

bonus! a few more drawings i found while scrounging through a school art folder (so many hidden gems in there)

i tried to tie in themes from monochromatik’s anims a lot with my art, hence the red moon imagery (vampire culture map part ROCKS!!). the top pose panel thing was originally my teacher giving me feedback on a painting sketch, but i turned it into smthn else! those erased lines were teeth but i made it more of a normal album cover instead lol. greyscale was my will wood gateway creature and i will always thank them for that <33

the 1st was me drawing greyscale with 0 reference, and looks a lil scary so i tagged it as “unproportional horror” if that makes sense (also!! cj cage spotted!!). was planning on using different patterns/blurred art from the 6up 5ph anim as a background, but i liked the lyrics better.

the 2nd was me drawing with reference! there’s some awesome graphite work im proud of, and an extra doodle i didnt digitallize (but now i want to). grey’s hUGe sharp-fingered hands are awesome to figure out in posing >:]. ANDAND their inconsistent dark face thing is sooo cooollll

last year in december, i had a hUge greyscale hyperfixation and watched monochromatik’s 6up 5oh Cop-Out animation so many times,, augh its so awesome.

CHARACTER CONTEXT: this is grayscale! spooky lanky cat robot who is overprotective of her kid, saturate :].

greyscale’s lankyness and expressive nature was what really appealed to me. plus how their story was conveyed through the 6up 5oh animation was amazing!!! it was super flashy and really intense, and reflected the chaotic song super well. i love monochromatik’s stuff sm waugh

oh! and laplace (wheel iterator robot son) is here. say hello laplace :]. me getting into greyscale was somehow conveniently timed because around then chonny started releasing his will wood power hour covers, and his laplace’s angel cover lead to the creation of my kid laplace here! so i drew em together for funsies huhu

these old doodles were before i dove into more of grey’s lore, so some details in the doodles are wrong whoops (grey isn’t a kidnapper but rather an overprotective guardian, and is interrogated rather than electric chaired). my art was really “fragmented” around this time—it’s especially noticable on the doodles with all the disconnected lines. it was an era!
