[ID: Two flags with seven evenly distributed stripes. The first four stripes range from light blue to deep blue-purple, and the last three go from black to light grey at the bottom. The left flag has an image of a wave flowing right, cropped into a circle in the middle and the right has no symbol. End ID.]
☆ monoconscious flag | symbol / no symbol
[plain text: monoconscious flag | symbol / no symbol. end plain text]
the current definition can be found on termora: a system [subsystem / layer] with only one consciousness; members do not each have an individual consciousness, but instead share the collective consciousness. fronting may resemble "becoming" more than "switching." [link.]
during discussions with other monoconscious systems, we noticed some similarities such as:
switching feels like a river / fluid
access to headspace can be difficult without an excessive amount of concentration
this flag was a collaboration between many of us within the “mogai multiverse” discord server - namely @little-gender-trinkets / @panvampic / & eccentric 🌈#5186. the blues, the “fluid-like” switching into the front, the black is the wall/disconnect from the headspace and the greys are the blurry headspace if focused on. the wave symbol represents the feeling of “becoming” rather than “switching”.

So, we were going to make a longer post about this, but we really don’t have the energy. But we were wondering if any other system has had this experience:
We’ve talked before about how we’re a monoconscious system. Well, at the same time Adora (our newest headmate) appeared, our system for a brief period of time became drastically less monoconscious.
For a couple hours we for the first time all able to experience headspace from our own perspectives, at the same time, all doing separate things. It was incredible!
And then the next day it had faded a little. And again the day after that… and now we’re back to being as monoconscious as before.
The experience has motivated us to pick back up on doing parallel processing games we’ve learned from the tulpamancy community, but in the meantime we were wondering if any other systems have experiences anything similar?
Calico System update!! /pos
So, we’re a monoconscious system. Which means in short that we all share one consciousness rather than it being split among everyone like most systems. Which means a couple different things, but mostly that switching feels like “becoming” a different person, that whenever we switch the host gets thrown in “spectator mode” where they cannot interact with anything (including can’t communication) but can watch, and that when the host isn’t accessing headspace through meditation usually, none of us can access it.
In all honesty, we don’t like being monoconscious. We all want to be able to go into headspace whenever we want, have our own sensory input, be able to each do different things at once, etc.
We heard that tulpamancy* practices on parallel processing can help, so when we have time we’ve been using parallel processing games. It’s been slow progress cause we don’t have time every day, but overall, it’s helping!! The other day one of us was able to go into headspace without the host there. Their senses still were overlapping quite a bit, but it’s huge progress!
If anyone’s interested, we’ll keep updating on stuff like this :3
*yes we know the controversy on the term tulpamancy. However we have yet to see anyone from the culture the word was taken from state if it’s actually cultural appropriation or not (if you have a source on that please share!!). We’re just using the resources to help our system gain better functionality.
consideration is over, time to update the intro. we definitely experience a lot of what fits into monoconscious system criteria and it's. an interesting observation.
(others still seem processing my discovery, so they don't have any particular thoughts on the matter. our host is definitely on the sidelines and isn't fully present expect for controlling the body, comprehending our thoughts inside and what's going on outside + allowing us to do all kinds of bullshit, which is both nice and reckless)
gosh, it feels like ages when i didn't consider myself as an actual being, and now we discover all kinds of wonderful terms and experiences? it's uplifting, to say the least...
