Travel poster for Broadripple, Indiana
Monon Trail, Indianapolis, Indiana, Summer 2016
The Monon Trail is a multi-use trail perfect for biking, running, or walking. I am lucky enough to live 1/2 a mile away from an entrance to the trail, so I often ride my bike there. The Monon stretches all through Indianapolis, and has many offshoot trails. I often bike to Broad Ripple, a neighborhood of food and shops, which has a delicious ice cream place right off the trail. I have also biked downtown and to the Indiana State Fair, a super convenient alternative to driving.
Tonight was so much fun. I went on a date with this life guard from work and we went to broadripple. We are dinner and talked for like two hours and then went on a walk along the monon trail and saw the mini waterfalls and it's was just so nice. It was nice to talk to someone for a few hours about something other than what's going on in my life right now. It was nice to just stop for a second and get to know a new friend. I had such a lovely time and I'm so glad we did it. It honestly helped me so much with what's going on and was probably really healthy for me because for once, I wasn't worried about what I was going to do. I just went for it and tried to go with the flow and it was nice. Although neither of us are looking for significant others, it was really nice to make a new friend and to sit down and have a real conversation with someone that wasn't about camp or my relationship problems. I'm really happy tonight happened.
Greater Indianapolis CROP Hunger Walk on October 19, 2014
Rev. Brooks Barrick walked about 6 miles with me during Day 4 of my walk in Indianapolis. We walked together for a big part of the Monon Trail. Brooks is the CWS CROP Hunger Walk coordinator in Indianapolis and is extremely energetic, we are lucky to have him as part of our walks. Unfortunately, we had some audio challenges with his video, but we hope that you still enjoy listening to his answer on women's empowerment. I really should try to go to Indianapolis on October 19, 2014 to join the Greater Indy walk as it will be great! You should too if you can.
