does monozuki feel his own form of “comfort” when Lucy’s around? When he isn’t there, does he feel his own form of unease?

Yes, he does! No one ever asks that lmao.

But yes, after a certain amount of time together, having Lucy around becomes his new normal. He grows comfortable with Lucy’s presence around the lab/apartment and Lucy’s absence is noted when he’s off doing contracted villain work. In addition, after he gets particularly ill and has trouble caring for himself, Lucy steps in and does a lot to help him out, which opens Monozuki up to the thought that he can’t accomplish everything on his own and he needs a partner in his life.

So yeah, he not only feels more comfortable when Lucy is around, he also relies on him quite a bit and trusts him a lot.
