You’d never been surrounded by more absolute chaos, and Aito looked at you like he was mortified and wanted to bury himself alive. You were still awkwardly holding onto his shoulder, although the hand that had been on his thigh was now fisted at your side. Hyuk’s laughter bounced off the wall and you could sort of make out Kenny’s teasing and dramatized kissy faces he was making. Nathan was bemoaning something about his baby Aito and how grown up he was now, whereas Seok was videoing all of it.

You shrunk down even more, burying your head into Aito’s chest as if it would help you disappear. If you had known you were going to be interrupted by all four of his members at once, you wouldn’t have even tried to see your boyfriend in the first place. Privacy was a luxury when one lived with four other guys in one small dorm, and you should have kept to your rule of hangouts only being at your house. 

But you had so desperately wanted to see Aito. Call it cheesy, but you thought six months together deserved at least some amount of celebration, even if it was only a small cake you had baked last minute and a new set of earrings for him. His presents were a lot more thought out. A few sketchbook pages full of you, a plushie of your favourite animal and a new game you had been wanting for months that he promised to play with you. It was hard to top your boyfriend when it came to gifts. He always knew what to get you. You wrote it off as growing up in a household of sisters.

You hadn’t planned on it. Something like this was rarely planned. But the mood had shifted and one small kiss turned into something a bit more desperate— a bit touchier. You couldn’t keep your hands off of Aito, even though you were the one holding back as much as possible. He was a million times worse. It felt as if something switched inside him, like someone had pressed a button to make his brain completely focused on only you. He had never kissed you so earnestly before, as if even a second detached from your lips would kill him. 

You were both so lost in the moment, it wasn’t until you heard Hyuk shriek in near girlish excitement and shock that you realized you were no longer alone. Two people caught in a very obvious act should naturally jump apart, to at least try to buy some deniability in the case. But instead, you just froze while Aito’s eyes went wide and his grip on your waist only tightened like he needed something to ground him. 

He knew as soon as he saw Kenny that he would never be able to live it down. Operation keep his relationship private had officially failed.
