The Pipettes - Judy
Before fake-retro became everyone's favorite everything, The Pipettes got in just under the wire with the flawless triumph, We Are The Pipettes. Judy was the first song that I heard from the record and it's still my favorite. The subtle intro that launches into the harried gallop and back again is totally effective. The bridge introduces a new wrinkle to the narrative, and isn't just tacked on for the sake of having a bridge. The horns are well placed, the vocals harmonies are spot on, and though it has little to do with the song, The Pipettes had the best clothes.
Wonderfully heart breaking movie.
