Monster Candy
"Chocolate-licorice truffles wrapped in cellophane look like pieces of candy. They have a distinct non-licorice flavour...and a distinct licorice flavour as well!"
INGREDIENTS:
two 4-ounce quality milk chocolate bars, very finely chopped (pure chocolate, found in the baking isle of most grocery stores; NOT candy bars)
1/2 cup heavy cream (or full-fat, non-refrigerated coconut milk)
1 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 tbsp soft licorice pieces, finely chopped (or pulsed in a food processor)
Chocolate sprinkles
INSTRUCTIONS:
Place the chocolate and softened butter in a heat-proof bowl. Set aside.
In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream until simmering. Once simmering, pour the heavy cream evenly on top.
Let the warm cream and chocolate sit for 5 minutes minutes, allowing the chocolate to heat up and melt. Add the vanilla and licorice pieces, then stir until the chocolate has completely melted.
Pour mixture into an 8 inch by 8 inch dish. Place a piece of plastic wrap directly on the surface of the mixture and refrigerate for 1-2 hours.
Scoop the set truffle mixture into mounds approx. 2 tsp in volume. Roll each mound into a ball. Next, roll each ball into the sprinkles so they're completely coated.
Use food-grade, candy-wrapper cellophane (in various assorted colours) to wrap truffles up like pieces of candy. Place in a bowl and store at room temp for up to 4 days.

120 Years
The door burst open and in marched Monster Kid followed closely by both Greater and Lesser Dog who were escorting a sour faced Monster whose body was shaped vaguely like a flying saucer with long long arms. Papyrus, who had just picked up his phone to place a call, sighed and set it back down. “OH DEAR, WHAT HAPPENED THIS TIME?” If Monster Kid could have saluted he would have, he stood ramrod straight, practically bristling with indignation, his eyes furious. Despite MK’s standing orders to accompany Isa through the Underground, there was no sign of them anywhere. “Captain, Sir! I was forced to divert from my assignment in order to arrest the Monster known as Jerry for his continued abuse towards fellow Monsters.” For a long moment Papyrus simply closed his eyes and wondered if some people just liked being contrary and troublesome. It would certainly explain some things about the Monster in front of him, who had been brought before him multiple times in the last year alone for very similar reasons. “WHAT EXACTLY DID HE DO TO WARRANT AN ARREST INSTEAD OF SIMPLY A WARNING?” He asked, not really wanting to know the answer. Monster Kid, however, was quite happy to supply him with one anyway. “He broke the arm of a Monster who was trying to get up through the only path on his way home and asked Jerry if he’d please move. When Jerry refused the other Monster threatened to call the guard and Jerry got angry and attacked him. Our challenge route happened to be going along that way through the lower Snowdin Valley instead of on the peaks and we arrived in time to see the attack.” For his part, Jerry’s expression was somehow looking even more sour than before, though it was difficult to tell if that was because of the whole incident and the revelation of his misdeeds, or if it was because Lesser Dog had a hold of his cellphone. What to do with him? Everyone had the potential to be a good person, but only if they actually tried, and Jerry had made no attempts whatsoever. Initially he’d only been a minor annoyance, but recently he’d become much more of a problem. Puzzles hadn’t worked any miracles thus far. But he couldn’t just let Jerry wander around hurting others because he didn’t get his way. Perhaps some kind of community service? Did Jerry even have a job to begin with? A number of Monsters didn’t these days, only those who wanted to actually had work, though some enjoyed it. Often folk simply spent time and effort on their own projects. Maybe more traditional employment would be beneficial. A proper job with clear expectations. It was worth a try. “WELL, JERRY. I MUST SAY THAT I’M A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED. I THOUGHT YOU PROMISED ME THAT YOU’D TRY TO BE BETTER AFTER LAST TIME.” The Monster’s face twisted up into a sneer. “I’m not the problem. Its everyone else that’s the problem. Not my fault people come bothering me and making threats. I was just defending myself.” For a moment Papyrus was sure MK was going to explode, instead he remained at attention, trembling with suppressed rage. “ALRIGHT, THAT’S ENOUGH,” the skeleton said sternly. “I CANNOT FORCE YOU TO BE A BETTER PERSON. BUT I DO HAVE TO PROTECT THE MONSTERS OF THE UNDERGROUND. YOU WILL BE SPENDING THE NIGHT IN THE “SHED”, AND TOMORROW YOU WILL BE PUT TO WORK IN WHATEVER PLACE I THINK YOU’LL BE OF GREATEST USE.” The shed was really just his own shed, though it had been rebuilt several times now and was now more a comfortable cell with real metal bars that were too close together for anyone to escape through, and actual food provided. The dog food was still there, but that was for the dogs who guarded the little jail and not for the prisoner. Not that there were prisoners that often, thank goodness. Jerry’s mouth fell open in shock and as the dogs began to pull him out of the room he started to shout back at them. Since most of it sounded like obscenities anyway, Papyrus tuned it out and looked at MK. “AND WHERE IS YOUR COMPANION? YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO STAY WITH THEM.” Wilting slightly, Monster Kid looked embarrassed. “It was their idea. Isa wanted me to take him in while they stayed behind to help the Monster that Jerry attacked. I think they had Monster Candy with them for healing.” Ah, yes that explained it. There was little arguing with Isa once they’d decided on a course. Determination went a long way, after all. He sighed again. “VERY WELL, RETURN TO YOUR POST. I’LL FIND A WAY TO DEAL WITH JERRY. HOWEVER I WILL WANT A FULL REPORT ON EVERYTHING THAT TOOK PLACE, INCLUDING VICTIM ACCOUNTS.” “Yes Sir!” shouted MK, and sped back out the door. What a wonderful way to end the day. Oh well, he wouldn’t let this sort of thing get him down, after all, he had recently acquired a new recipe for a Tagliatelle with Sausages, Rosemary and Porcini Mushrooms. Someone had uploaded it to his favorite site for new dishes, saying they’d gotten it from an old cookbook they’d had laying around somewhere. It had taken nearly a week to gather all the proper ingredients, and he’d been worried that Tripplenight would come with its Reset before he’d ever get to taste the dish. Yet finally he had everything and tonight he’d go home and try his hand at it. Thank the Angel for Pasta. It made everything so much better just by existing.

Happy Halloween from the Skele-family!!!🎃
A little framed photo of Mama Frisk taking a group family picture. Unfortunately there might be a tiny skele-baby who's too tired for a picture.
