Monster Talk.
I feel like the Harkness test should distinguish monsters from beasts. The talking dog's sentience grants it monsterdom enough so that fucking it is no longer beastiality.
But fucking an unintelligent dragon with the brain of the average skink is beastiality.
So none of your poll options feel right for me.
This is an interesting take, and I think you're hitting on one of the big nuances of what people might consider a monster. From my understanding, the Harkness test is mostly about checking for sentience and consent. It’s practically the same checklist researchers use to make sure participant consent is ethically gathered. But, like, it doesn’t really dive into whether something counts as a monster or not.
Take the talking dog example: sure, it might pass the Harkness test because it’s sentient, but does that make it a monster? In my opinion, it’s just a dog with a specific skill. Honestly, this is a good example of how subjective the whole “what counts as a monster” thing is. Everyone draws the line differently, and what feels like a monster to one person might not to another.
there is a difference between a fuckboy and a slut, and it’s the same as the difference between a vampire and a werewolf
Do you have w favorite monster
hmm I do like aerocuda, watching them fly is interesting
bokoblins I’m fond of too. Especially after dealing with Ganon, they act more like wild animals now and leave travelers alone (mostly). They’re funky little guys. {Kilton’s hat helped me study them up close for Zelda, they have a similar pack dynamic to other mammals that fascinating to watch
Could a mimic shape shift into clothing?
God you are so smart. WOOF. Obviously I have to say yes that is PEAK braincell anon I'm.....I'm thinking thots.....t-tongue-!!!
I hate how a lot of people dehumanize monsters in fantasy.
They don't HAVE to be cannon fodder for ur weapon. Go ahead ask them a question.
That harpy, hag, cyclopes, devil, medusa have a way of life my man.
What are they doing outside of fighting? Do they have hobbies? I wanna know!
Maybe the harpy likes collecting items of a certain color. Imagine a nest built of blue items ranging from a bottle cap to crystals.
Maybe the Medusa likes knitting?
I just love the thought of monsters living and doing stuff outside of combat.
Riding your favorite monster so good they pass out for a week
I love this. This is a work of art. 10/10 good ask.
I've been thinking though, and here me out. Your resident monster trying and succeeding to seduce you. It's like mating season, or whatever, right? They promise you all these salacious acts, sinful position, and the like. You're hype, you're ready, and they deliver, but somehow, someway, you not only outlast them, you out perform them. Something they weren't ready for. So, they pass out for a good week, and just as you're trying to figure out whether or not you need to take them to a magical healer, they wake up, dazed and confused, unable to comprehend that you literally fucked them into next week. They make a decision, right the and there. The only way they're going to be able to keep up with you is if they train. And guess what?
You're their only training partner.
