I believe that people can have a special connection (romantic or non-romantic), like a very deep understanding of each other that goes beyond attraction and shared interests / world views /...
Sometimes people seem to click instantly and just get each other even if they haven't known each other for long, and I think that's beautiful.
But I personally don't belive that this sort of connection is determined by some kind of cosmic fate (or whatever one might call it). Because I feel like it's absolutely possible to have this kind of connection with more than one person.
Also: The idea of this one person out there who is your perfect match and you will meet them one day and from that moment on everything will be perfect (...) sets very high expectations and can put a lot of pressure on relationships (and people), so...

I once wrote a poem about this called “if I asked you to disrespect me, would you still respect me in the morning?” and I think that pretty much covers it.
(in other words, I want one dynamic in bed and another out of it, and I want both from the same person.)

If you'd asked me about four months ago, I would have absolutely answered: no, I find it statistically improbable that out of 7 billion people, only one could be destined as a perfect complement to your own soul.
But I have become a hypocrite in the most wonderful of ways.
So, now, yes. I think fragments of souls from previous lives find each other again, and when they do, it is like a lit match touching flash paper.
