Ortho-xylene maintains a quiet monthly structure
Ortho-xylene ended December with a modest weekly increase while maintaining a tightly defined monthly structure. Indian Ortho-xylene prices in Mumbai were assessed at Rs 80.00/kg on December 31, up Rs 1.50/kg from a week earlier. The weekly rise did not disrupt the broader pattern, as price movements remained controlled and well within the recent three-month range.
Short-term comparisons underline the calm tone. On a fortnight basis, prices are Rs 0.50/kg higher than the Rs 79.50/kg level seen on December 17. The month-on-month view shows the same Rs 0.50/kg increase from Rs 79.50/kg on December 1, reinforcing the view of a stable, narrow advance rather than a directional shift. Indian Ortho-xylene prices have therefore held steady with limited volatility.
Further back, the three-month comparison places current values Rs 1.00/kg below Rs 81.00/kg recorded on October 2, while the six-month view shows prices Rs 7.00/kg lower than Rs 87.00/kg on July 4. The year-on-year comparison is significantly softer, with the latest level Rs 24.00/kg below Rs 104.00/kg on December 31, 2024. Ortho-xylene prices in India have recently ranged between Rs 78.5/kg at the lower end and Rs 84/kg at the upper end. Support is seen around Rs 78.5/kg, with resistance near Rs 84/kg guiding market discussions, Ortho Xylene, Chemical Market, Petrochemical Industry, Monthly Structure, Market Stability, Aromatics Market, Global Trade, Price Trend, Industry Update.-
