CJ knew it was probably wishful thinking on her part, but there was a huge part of her that was hoping once she walked backstage after the ladder match, that somehow, Pate would have been standing there to surprise her. Again, it was wishful thinking, because she didn’t see him when she finally made her way to the backstage area, but she knew he was probably entirely too busy that day, with it being his first Father’s Day and all, but that didn’t stop her from trying to FaceTime him as soon as she was making her way down the hall to the women’s locker room. The strangest thing happened, however, because CJ swore she heard a baby crying, which was wild, because Pate hadn’t even picked up the phone yet, but in her mind, it was just someone’s little one backstage, probably.

     “If someone asks me about my leg one more time, I am going to SCREAM. Just...” She closed her eyes, taking in a deep breath. “I’m FINE, alright?” After her mishap on R/aw, one side thought her character was faking it, and the other side seemed concerned, hoping it wasn’t anything serious, so close to M/oney in the B/ank. She wasn’t getting upset with Colby but hated getting asked that question a thousand                                                       times in one day.

     After Colby’s birthday he had come back home, their home. The family was reunited at long last (to Lillie’s delight for seeing her dad a lot more often) but there was still much that had to be resolved. They both wanted to make their marriage work but it would not be done overnight. Every day must be taken one day at a time. “You’re up,” acknowledged when Colby walked in the kitchen from the bedroom. as she was feeding Lillie tiny pieces of her bacon                                                 and eggs. “Hungry?”

        it had been a while since the last time she had been this upset. or rather , a long time since she had felt this kind of anger. her eyes were still on the text , reading as bianca had explained that , for some reason or another , colby had declined their invitation to her wedding. an invitation she had no idea about , the invitation she had been silently bitter over never getting ... colby had declined. she was so mad , she couldn’t even bother to ask bianca how long ago this was. she didn’t want to know or she might end up throwing the first blunt object directly at colby’s head. instead , she had stood there for a better part of three minutes , letting the words hit her as she held onto one of his shirts. 

        it wasn’t until her hand finally let go of the article of clothing that she made it to the living room where , unsurprisingly , he was knee deep in some video game. she knew there was a big chance he was probably playing online , but she really didn’t give a fuck. and it showed in the way she not only stood right in front of the tv , but also swiftly shut off whatever he was playing for the better part of the day. “ don’t start yellin’ at me , don’t you dare start , colby lopez! “ full name slipped out before she could even stop it. “ you’ve got one minute to explain to me why you did not bother to tell me about our invite to bianca’s wedding and why you declined and put the blame on me! you better have a good ass reason ... “

“You know what you’re looking at, my wonderful boyfriend?” April asked while stepping into Colby’s frame of sight. Yes, he was in the middle of watching something on Netflix since she’d walked off to finish up editing another draft her editor had sent in. Yes, this was mildly obnoxious of her, but she didn’t quite care right now. “You, my dear, are looking at a lady who finished up her fifth draft and won’t have to touch it for at least two more weeks!” She practically squealed before jumping around on the spot.
