Moon Cop by Tom Gauld
Moon Cop by Tom Gauld
Dream last night before I forget involved weird colors, I have this weird thing whenever I do a handstand or something of seeing stars, the dream had those but rather than small specks they looked like lines. Like sinusoidal lines of sorts...anyway. I woke up in the middle of the night and fell asleep again, second dream involved stuff I can't remember too much. Read a book called MoonCop today, it was nice and calming. It would be nice if my experiences with law enforcement were just as worry free.
Moon Cop, by Tom Gauld (Drawn & Quarterly)
Tom Gauld creates a bleak atmosphere in Mooncop with minimal dialogue and expansive art that perfectly recreates a depressive future. When everything is built to break, what solace can you find with the few remaining humans on a jaded Moon society? The story starts with page after page of 2X2 panels illustrating the landscape of the moon and the true silence that envelopes the inhabitants. An AWOL automated Neil Armstrong, a therapy bot, a cashier at a minicafe, and the all-star cop with a %100 solve rate. These characters and more bring Gauld’s graphic novel into an unsettling yet, light hearted read.
