This picture is so moony. It features the typical light/dark contrast of lunar imagery, in a very holistic, consistent way: the background is actually all black, just like the night firmament, and the subject’s deliberately yet comfortably centered face is pale and round. He is obviously listening and internalizing, rather than the solar action of radiating and demonstrating. His posture is soft, rounded, and protective. His clothes look really comfortable and he is wearing snuggly socks. The stubble and the exposed ankle give the impression, “I am in my comfortable space, and this is where I can be unkempt.” He is also cradling something, both nurturing it and being nurtured by it. And ALSO, what he’s cradling is an old-school computer! Nostalgia. Look at all the nostalgia in those eyes!

This one is very interesting. Even though it’s costumed up aesthetically to be a moon portrait, the figure’s facial expression and the way she is positioned make me think, “SATURN.” Still, I think the moon wins out here. This is clearly presented in order to give a lunar impression. (I’d be surprised if you’re not Cancer Rising???) All the classic moon markers are there: comfy sweater, happens to be white, soft pale face looming out of dark background, framed by smooth dark hair, eyes very “orblike,” brown irises imitating new moons. In the dark background ripple the feminine circular images that belong to the moon: the shapes of the flower of life, and the points of crescent shapes behind her head on the right. The overall softness of the shadows. 

The expression, though, is the classic saturnian “evaluation” expression, and her centrality and pose give the impression that this evaluation really matters. So, Saturn undertones, but communicated through lunar strategies.
